Zuckerberg announces he’s giving away his fortune. Except he’s really not, is he? since he’s only pledging to give it away at some vague, undetermined point in the future, and he’s really only giving it to himself—the “Chan Zuckerberg Initiative”—where he can maintain control of what he’s supposedly giving away, and oh by the way he’s keeping all the voting shares of Facebook. He might want to read Matthew 6:1-4:
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Bill Gates and a few others did the same thing, made big announcements about giving away their money, and then you see a couple years later they're still on the Richest Man in the World List and you see Gates spending money from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on all these weird leftwing ideas. What a crock of bullshit. These people aren't charitable. They're playing the public for fools.
Exactly, they all setup this different funds (shell games). They then make some big announcement like Suckerberg that they are giving away all this money. In reality all they have done is skirt the tax laws and sheltered most of their wealth away from the IRS.
Suckerberg, Gates and all the rest need to STFU. Shut down their charities and foundations. Stop taking the tax write offs and pay what the owe.
