2 Mississippi Officers Shot, Killed; Suspects Arrested. That was fast. After recent events the first thing that comes to our mind is it’s good they weren’t killed or we’d soon have another town being destroyed.

Marvin Banks, his younger brother, Curtis Banks and Joanie Calloway were charged in the shooting deaths of Hattiesburg officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate, who were killed late Saturday while conducting a traffic stop, said Warren Strain, the public affairs director for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety. Marvin Banks, 29, and Calloway, 22, both faced two counts of capital murder, among other charges, said Strain. He said Curtis Banks, 26, was charged with two counts of accessory after the fact after capital murder.

  • I am sometimes used of overthinking a bit, but has it crossed anyone's mind (or what passes gor one) thet this makes ALL cops just a little more paranoid, just a little more jittery, a tad more trigger happy? If I felt I was under attack, I would crrtainly be in ashoot first, ask questions later if I felt I was in a dangerous situation.

  • Barb R already said it, where is Sharpton? Where is Jessie Jackson? Where are all the race baiters that like to bash cops for killing a thug, who happens to be black? I guess a black police officer, this Uncle Tom, does not matter, he doesn't deserve their attention.

  • I've already email Al Sharton's organization asking what his plans are to protest the black officer's killing. I told them that I understood that they wouldn't be doing anything for the white officer, well, because after all he was white.

    I also emailed Subway asking for the termination of that despicable individual. I told them that I was very pleased that Subway Restaurants hires mentally retarded and intellectually deficient people, but this person is far too moronic to be in the workplace without a shock collar in the event she Tweets again.

    • At the bottom of the piece it said that Subway has terminated the slimeball. Good for them, if they can make it stick. Who knows what the local labor board will do if this firing is contested.

      There are bad cops no doubt. I've seen them. Just like any other profession.

      Yet we stand up, man up and do what we signed up for. All the time knowing that at a single beat of our heat. We could be the one laying in a flagged draped coffin.

      This is becoming far to frequent a saying. Rest well my brothers. We will weep for you, will grieve for you, carry you to your place of rest. Lay you to rest. Then rejoin the line that we swore to defend.
