Here’s your federal government in action. It took 2,388-pages and, we would imagine, several million dollars to set up a new series of laws that say, “Don’t throw a Frisbee to Fido and don’t let Rover run free.”

Not if you live in San Francisco, that is. The eco-wackos have studied these issues in great detail and set out a whole new list of restrictions.
The San Francisco Examiner details the new doggie no-noes:
The federal government proposes to drastically reduce where dogs can roam off leash in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and limit the number of animals that professionals can walk at one time to as few as three.
In The City, for instance, people who want to let their dogs roam freely at Fort Funston would be limited to a stretch of shoreline and a section by the parking lot. And off-leash enjoyment would be prohibited entirely at Lands End and Baker Beach, which currently allow animals to be managed by voice control.
The suggestions are part of a 2,388-page, 14-pound draft environmental impact report outlining the proposed rules at 21 federal open spaces in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties.
Also, the recreation area is proposing that dog owners at Ocean Beach, Fort Mason and four other open spaces in The City abide by more-constricting rules.
The new system is meant to strike a balance between park landscape, native wildlife and the 16 million visitors — which includes dog owners and hang-glider users — who visit the park’s open spaces each year.
Oh, fine. As if the new restrictions on dogs weren’t bad enough, now we find out they also apply to hang gliders.
So remember to take a plastic bag and clean up after your hang glider, because you know what a mess they can make on the beach.

Ya'll need to listen to the "Asshole" song by Denis Leary. It is typical smart mouth Leary but very funny if you thing about it. The harder the eco-nuts push, the more double roll, extra absorbent, extra strong Charmin I buy. When I was a kid we did not have indoor plumbing, we had an outhouse. No more Sears catalogs, leafs or sticks for me! I want "smooth" cleaning and plenty of it.
Truthfully, this might have been a good idea.
We all know how San Fran Lieberals (sic) think it beneath them to follow standard social conventions. My guess is the National Park Service just got tired of cleaning up all the dog poop the libtards refused to! I know that when I take my 4 dogs to the dog park, I find many people leave fido to his/her own devices, and cleanup is never on their mind!
Besides, aren't all those plastic bags considered an ecological travesty in libtard circles? Maybe they placed copies of the report in the dog areas of the park to use as eco-friendly dog poop pickup devices. Just remember Cheryl Crowe's edict, "one sheet (page) per poop"!
Perhaps Sheryl "All I Wanna do" Crowe has a technique whereby using the single sheet method she doubles her capacity by drying the first side and reintroducing the sheet into the ready to use supply?
Please. Help stop this madness! Go to http://OceanBeachDOG.home.mindspring.com for details on this travesty.
Please check out the entire website but do go to the DEIS section for further information and links on this. Additionally, please be sure to comment on the proposed GGNRA dog policy by going to the DEIS Comment section on the above website. Thanks in advance for your support!

While hang gliding, your dog takes a dump. Do you have to pick it up? Wait... Can hang gliding and dog pooping be a combined activity? It all seemed so straight forward until that mention of hang gliders.
I wonder if the federal govenrment will conduct an environmental impact study on the environmental impact of 2,388 page, 14-pound environmental impact statements.
The irony is astounding...
Yes it is, but look at all the bills these progressive A-holes put forward, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 page bills that nobody can really get through, so the they can slip whatever they are trying sneak past you. That's the purpose of this. But the fact that you have to clear cut forrests to produce the paper needed to print these crap bills does'nt matter. It 's a means to an end...the end of our freedoms.
No, & they don't care. It was for the greater good.
Maybe I am overreaching but this stinks of a mild version of sharia. Making sure that unclean dogs do not roam about too much. What exactly... and I mean EXACTLY is the impact on the environment on dogs roaming around? Especially... especially if they have owners?
The attempts at the control of our behavior and the things that we do and the things that we have (in this instance pets and hand gliders (really?)) is astonishing and the fact that people are not doing anything about it is concerning.
KQ, You are over analyzing, those who SanFran believe in better living through state control. This idea has spead like cancer across the nation.
They just feel they know how to run your life better then you.
Perhaps... I would like to know though if there is anyone of muslim faith involved in this.... however even if there isn't it just smells like something that could happen if sharia becomes law in the US which is scary. But you are right, excessive human on human control has been part of that state and city for a long time and the people that remain there and don't like it but do nothing about it have a lot of blame on that.
Apparently liberals don't like dogs, they don't want the competition.
San Francisco needs to enforce a leash law on the humm "people" they send to Washington, woof, woof.
C'mon...its ONLY 114 pages and 2/3 pounds per Federal Space. Sheesh.. /Sarcasm
I wonder how many trees they killed printing up copies of these type of reports?? Come to think of it, I wonder how many "tree sitters" have lost their homes?
Damn! I hope they didn't cut all the trees it took to print up all this nonsense in New Mexico and Arizona! If they did they may have harmed the environment for the Mexican Spotted Owl and they will be harder to find! I love the spotted owl, they taste just like chicken.
Can we put the loonies on a leash and parade them around? That’s right, they do that already in San Francisco. So, I guess they are being equal and fair to all that live in San Francisco.
