True story.

My wife was at her hairdresser yesterday and her hairdresser told her the following story about one of her total liberal customers who live in a very expensive area in the San Francisco East Bay.

The woman told her that she and her husband went to a play in San Francisco. (Note, the theater areas are in total “homelessville” and I have forbidden my wife to go anymore.)

Anyway, Mrs. Liberal complained that they had to walk quite a distance from where they parked their car. En route, they had to step over homeless people, beggars, drug addicts, and shit all over the sidewalks to get to the theater.

They got their seats, sat down and the play started.

The woman said she thought she had a pebble in her shoe, took it off, stuck her fingers in and there was human shit inside her shoe. She told the hairdresser she sat there with shit in her hand and on her shoe until intermission, because she didn’t want to get up in the middle of the play.

$10 someone this stupid will have no clue about the Democrats causing this and will vote Democrat next month.

The average retiree from San Francisco city government earns an annual pension of $46,272, according to the San Francisco Employees’ Retirement System. The average retiree who worked at least 30 years in city government earns an annual pension of $76,981.

The average pension for a retiree from the Fire Department is $108,552. From the Police Department? $95,016. And everybody else? $41,136.

The figures show most retirees aren’t getting anywhere near the fat packages that outrage many city residents – like the $264,000 pension paid to former Police Chief Heather Fong last year.

But city retirees are doing pretty well compared with working San Franciscans. Census data show the median family income in the city is $86,546. Per capita income is $44,373.

Four words: Un. Sus. Tain. Able.

A man was hospitalized Wednesday evening with life-threatening, third-degree burns after somehow catching fire inside a San Francisco porn store, authorities told CBS 5.

The fire occurred at the Golden Gate Adult Superstore at 99 Sixth Street, near the intersection with Mission Street, in the city’s South of Market neighborhood around 6:20 p.m.

Police officers across the street from the porn shop saw a man run out the front door of the store “engulfed in flames,” SFPD Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.

Some firefighters who happened to be about a block away at the time were immediately summoned and extinguished the flames.

Arson investigators said it was not exactly clear how the man caught fire. Police indicated he had apparently been watching videos in a private booth at the adult arcade when the fire ignited.

To summarize: The guy’s watching porn in a private booth. Friction of one sort or another cause him to spontaneously combust. He rushes from the store.

Authorities may be puzzled as to the cause, but we’re not. This was clearly a case of premature evacuation.

And, yes, we know exactly how much of a stretch that was.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (which technically, should be PFTETOA, not PETA) sent a letter to the mayor of San Francisco requesting that the city’s Tenderloin District be renamed the “Tempeh District.”

In case you’re as unfamiliar with tempeh as we were, Mrs Editor confidently states that it’s a traditional Indonesian soy dish. (Looks like all those hours watching the Food Channel have finally paid off.)

“I am writing on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and our more than 2 million members and supporters, including thousands in the Bay Area, with an idea that could help revitalize the struggling Tenderloin district: rename it the “Tempeh District.” By discarding an outdated moniker that evokes the horrors of the meat trade, you’ll be sending a strong message to progressive businesses and health-conscious residents that this neighborhood is ready for a fresh start.”

The letter goes on to explain how tempeh is healthier and cruelty-free, while tenderloin is full of suffering.

Reiman goes on to offer other suggestions if Tempeh doesn’t have the right ring to it,

“If Tempeh doesn’t excite you, how about Granola Flats or Seitan’s Lair? You could even run a contest to choose a veggie moniker.”

We’d open this contest up to our readers, but we’re pretty sure you lunatics would all come up with names like “Tube Steak Town.”

The San Francisco Examiner details the new doggie no-noes:

The federal government proposes to drastically reduce where dogs can roam off leash in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and limit the number of animals that professionals can walk at one time to as few as three.

In The City, for instance, people who want to let their dogs roam freely at Fort Funston would be limited to a stretch of shoreline and a section by the parking lot. And off-leash enjoyment would be prohibited entirely at Lands End and Baker Beach, which currently allow animals to be managed by voice control.

The suggestions are part of a 2,388-page, 14-pound draft environmental impact report outlining the proposed rules at 21 federal open spaces in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties.

Also, the recreation area is proposing that dog owners at Ocean Beach, Fort Mason and four other open spaces in The City abide by more-constricting rules.

The new system is meant to strike a balance between park landscape, native wildlife and the 16 million visitors — which includes dog owners and hang-glider users — who visit the park’s open spaces each year.

Oh, fine. As if the new restrictions on dogs weren’t bad enough, now we find out they also apply to hang gliders.

So remember to take a plastic bag and clean up after your hang glider, because you know what a mess they can make on the beach.

A resolution was passed in San Francisco declaring every Monday as “Vegetarian Day” to urge restaurants, grocery stores, and schools to offer plant based options for residents.

The 2009 report from World Bank environmental advisers, Goodland and Anhang, called “Livestock and Climate Change,” reveals that farmed animals and their byproducts are responsible for at least 32.6 billion tons of carbon dioxide per year, or 51 percent of annual worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.

Goodland and Anhang stated that replacing animal products with soy-based and other alternatives would be the best strategy for reversing climate change.

We checked with StraightDope.com, an authority that seemed appropriate in a story about San Francisco. It said, “The problem is the body’s inability to fully digest the complex carbohydrates so abundant in the vegetarian diet and the consequent excessive production of gases such as hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and methane.”

In other words, eat like a cow, fart like a cow.

Therefore, San Francisco’s theory that it can reduce greenhouse gasses by putting humans on a vegetarian diet to reduce the number of cows in the world is self-defeating. They’ll merely replace farting cows with farting humans.

And in the future, San Francisco’s politicians will be full of hot air and its citizens will be full of gas.

His name was Harry Aleo. His real estate business–called Twin Peaks Properties –added a dose of reality to the hippie fantasy world of free lunches, free love, high people and infinitely high taxes.

Harry passed away and now a museum in San Francisco wants to hold an exhibit of some of the signs and banners Harry proudly displayed in his office window. For example, they want to preserve a cardboard sign Aleo scribbled and propped up in the window of his office announcing that it was “an island of traditional conservative values in a sea of latte sipping liberal loonies.”

Many conservatives will look on the exhibit as a sign that San Fran may at least respect dissenting opinions. We think it’s more likely that they’re just after some grant money in an ironic attempt to extort more money from the public coffers.

Consider the city of San Francisco a microcosm of what’s happening in the rest of California. A bankrupt microcosm.

As you’d expect, it’s doomed by its own socialist spending spree, the cost of providing education, medical and jail facilities to illegal aliens, and a bloated bureaucracy.

But the salaries it’s paying city employees are absolutely insane. In 2007, the city had more than 8000 employees who “earned” more than $100,000 per year. Here’s a list of the city’s twenty highest-paid public employees:

$350,324 for a Special Nurse. $325,452 for the General Manager of the Municipal Railway. $270,171 for a Captain in the Fire Department. It’s insane.

How can a nurse make $350,324? In a word, overtime. Here’s how Special Nurse Christian Kitchin’s income broke down:

And don’t forget that this is on top of generous government retirement and health care schemes that aren’t available to the rest of us.
