Bertha Lewis is dumb as a rock for admitting this. And we hope we haven’t offended any rocks with that statement.
Associated Press reports the details of the organization’s dollar deficit:
Bertha Lewis, the chief executive officer for the group, said ACORN was getting by on about $4 million annually rather than its one-time $25 million budget and had reduced its staff to four, down from between 350 and 600 employees.
“We’re still alive. We’re limping along. We’re on life support,” Lewis said in an interview just after a government lawyer asked a federal appeals court to temporarily block a judge’s ruling that it was unconstitutional for Congress to cut funding to ACORN.
A $4,000,000 budget with a staff of four?

$4 million into four employees? That is a cool million each... Not a bad hustle.
Not to praise ACORN, that ratio (4 workers for only $4 million) does objectively make them the most efficient group to steal tax dollars with the help of Big Gov. Man, if only all the other Liberal NGOs and all of the Fed can be that streamlines and penny wise! Then we could simply add to our debt drop by drop and not pile it on by the s*it load.
Bet you $4 million of your tax dollars that Big Bertha did not take a cut in her paycheck...
Side note: Recovery.org just released an update that for only $4 million dollars it created or saved 8 jobs! Could there be some connection? Wow!

When civil war breaks out, ACORN offices should take down their signs.
The problem is there are so many group conected with ACORN, it does'nt matter. If I'm not mistaken, there were/are some 200 plus groups with direct ties to them. ACORN never really shut down, they just lay low for a while & change their name. So it's hard to really pin them down.
Good old Bertha Lewis (aka- Roger from "What's Happening") should be on trial with the rest of ACORN under RICO laws. They are nothing short of a criminal front group, & that's not including the voter fraud that no doubt helped give me my new Senator Al Franken.
Sweet bejesus. I work at a company that has 6 on the payroll and I'd be surprised if the total payed gets above $400,000 a year. And this is some high quality work (test equipment) we do. This is ridiculous.
