Sadly, I live here in Kalifornia, in fact in the only county to not vote for prop 8. So that tells you this is perhaps more moonbat central than even SF. In fact, the two cities make sure that homo hoedowns are not on the same weekend.

How sad, California must once have been a lovely place to live. I visited the San Diego area in the mid-90s, and Oceanside a few times around the turn of the millennium. Lovely weather. Knew I wouldn't want to live there, even back then, because everything was so all-fired expensive.
I've seen photos of Detroit back in the golden age of manufacturing. It, too, once was a lovely place. But there's no place so beautiful and prosperous that government won't screw six ways to Sunday and leave it impoverished, trashed, and crime-riddled.

These people in Sacramento, Liberals the majority, are some of the stupidest people in the history of the world, We are going to vote in November to raise taxes, cause otherwise Jerry Brown and the morons in the democratic party said they will have to cut back on education, law enforcement, and fire protection....But yet they will still fund 10 billion a year for healthcare for illegal aliens, along with giving them college tuition and now they want to make the entire state a sanctuary state for illegals..yea lets invite more non citizens to camp out here so we can pay them welfare,and pay for their health care...

Problem with Kalifornia is the Bay Area and L.A...They are like lemmings and run headlong over the cliff for anyone that is a democrap. The rest of the state for the most park is conservative, but there is so many stupid people in those two areas their vote outweighs anything the rest of the state does. If Kalifornia wanted to solve it's problems, the Bay Area and L.A. In every major election I've voted in down here it seems the Conservatives are always leading, until the big city votes start coming in from all the entitlement a-holes who vote the Libs over the top. We cannot win in this situation. I need to work about 5-6 more yrs. until I can retire, and I have a good job here (Sacto). I don't know if I can handle 5 more yrs here. I'm going to AK for 2 weeks vacation and there are several job opportunities around the Anchorage area for what I do. I'd much rather finish my working career and retirement up there.
The only issue w/this is I need to be an AK resident (2 months) to be hired at these companies. I'll check into it while I'm there. I might get stuck fishing and say FU Kalif. and never come back!

Leaving California and starting over would be a challenge but I think it's a good idea. The politicans who run the state no longer care about working people like you, they see you only as a source of revenue for insane projects like the bullet train and more welfare benefits for the drones. The California politicians have voted for the death of the state, so it's time for you to vote with your feet.

Well I got a farmstead in North Dakota where I grew up, Quiet, peaceful, hunting, fishing, cost of everything is lower.Since Stockton went tits up, I lost my health insurance, for two of us the cheapest I could find was 1000 a month plus a 1000 dollar per person deductible, same coverage without the deductible in N.D.? about 300 dollars. No smog checks, no crazyass taxes, No special gasoline blends, no traffic, no crowds, and very little crime...I think that may be the way we go very shortly...F*ck Kalifornia. As far as winter goes I grew up there, I think I could get myself a snowblower and some snow tires and no problem...
With all the money you'll save on insurance and taxes, you could even afford a 4x4 with a plow!

CALPERS is separate from the City Government, (meaning they can't yet steal money from it) but I also had money set aside outside the PERS system just in case either Kalifornia or Stockton screwed the pooch, as for now, No it doesn't affect the retirement.

I liked the part where it was stated that it might take upwards of 20 years to build. Anybody remember Boston's "Big Dig", and how much over budget that boondoggle went? I bet this Bullet Train exceeds it by a factor of 10.

I really dgaf if Kali spends itself into oblivion. The 3.3 billion from stimulus does concern me because I am paying for that. I'd venture to guess that number will likely triple before the first mile of track is laid.
We all know that California will default sometime in the near future.
