Alvin Greene, former Democrat candidate for senator from the great state of South Carolina, has set his sights on an even loftier goal – the Presidency.
The Columbia Free-Times reports that and other little nuggets:
Former U.S. Senate candidate Alvin Greene was pacing the second floor of the Richland County Courthouse around 9 a.m. Tuesday in a pair of wind pants, a gray Army T-shirt and a green baseball cap, which an officer later told him to remove when he entered the courtroom without his attorney.
It’s just a roll call,” Greene told Free Times. “At most a not guilty plea.”
Greene was indicted this summer on charges that he showed pornographic material to a college girl on the University of South Carolina campus.
While in the courtroom Tuesday, Greene said he didn’t want to see a story on his hearing in Free Times and if the paper published one he would take legal action.I’m going to sue y ’all,” he said, adding that the court bailiff was his witness. Instead, Greene wanted to talk about something else. “Write about me running for president,” Greene said. “I’m running for president of the United States.” Greene said he was born to be president and that he turns 35 in August of 2012.
“I’m the next president,” Greene said, while sitting on a bench. “I’ll be 35 … just before November, so I was born to be president.”

I feel bad for this guy. I think he is sick. Someone should do their job if they are a reporter and truly find out what is wrong with him.
Am I the only one who thinks this guy is brain damaged? Really, not joking. Listen to the mumble, the inability to string to gehter a sentence, to hold a job, everything. He acts like someone with a closed head injury!

A bit about me before I continue my rant: I'm currently an enlisted infantryman (Specialist/E-4) in the US Army, 2/504 PIR, 82nd Airborne Division. I have no illusions about my position. I am no great combat veteran, and an in fact have only been in the military for a little under a year. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism with an emphasis in Natural Resource Management in December of last year (ironically, a background in electrical engineering, before my major switch), and decided to join the military out of a sense of service and tradition, not as a last resort. I have a strong resume, with a number of solid positions with the Forest Service, civilian Corps of Engineers, and YMCA (as well as all the assorted crap jobs that I pulled to pay for college). The only "criminal charge" I have ever gotten was a $75 ticket for talking on my cell phone while driving on Fort Bragg.
Overall, I'm just an average guy, with no really outstanding things going for or against me. There is no way I would ever consider a run for presidency.
Now... I began to do some research on this guy... and I am almost absolutely floored by his uselessness. :-P You'll have to pardon me for using some Wikipedia information, but it's kind of quick and convenient plus I really don't give a shit. If it's wrong, I'm sure some liberal will hollar and scream about it, but again, I really won't give any "processed food excrement."
This guy, granted, is a veteran... but he still has done little of note in the military. He has been awarded with the following medals: Global War on Terrorism, Air Force Good Conduct, Korea Defense Service, and the National Defense Service Medal. Let me break down how these are awarded:
1) Global War on Terrorism - if you were in the military during the time period of approximately 2004-2009, you got one automatically. Whooo!
2) Air Force Good Conduct - if you've gone a year without an Article 15, you get one automatically. Whooo!
3) Korea Defense Service - if you've been stationed in Korea, you get one automatically. You're allowed to volunteer for it and will most likely get it if you do, because it's known for being easy, boring, and almost nothing goes on there anymore. Whooo!
4) National Defense Service Medal - you get one for being in the military during a time of conflict. I got one from basic training. Whooo!
Seriously... military accomplishments? Non-existent. As far as his MOS choices go, he did apparently do some time in MI, which CAN be high speed... or it could be fluff work. He also spent a lot of time in Supply, which is known military-wide for being an MOS for the true Shamtastic individuals (my apologies to any veterans on here who spent time in supply: I'm not saying it's bad, and it is needed... I'm just saying it's not known for being the prime choice of really motivated soldiers) Additionally, the Air Force gave him lots of bad marks on leadership skills. Not a good sign. I'm just sayin'... but what do I know? I'm just a Joe.
He's been unemployed since leaving the military. Really? How about you go get a job or try managing your own business first, and see how that goes? Good Lord, this guy kills me.
As bad as it sounds, his resume may possibly be even thinner than Obama's, which is a really stupendous feat. However, if he makes ANY federal office, my humble list of accomplishments should make me a guaranteed President in 10 years! :-/

Yup. While I support the military I do get tired of some conservatives fawning over anyone in a uniform. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good people in the service that do it out of a sense of duty and could be making more money, not living in Iraq otherwise. But there are also some that are there to do as little as possible until they can collect their pension. IMO, the former outnumber the later but there's lots of people that viewed it as a cushy job with a little PT involved.And airforce isn't exactly roughing it...in Baghdad me and my buddy would go to the AF chow-halls every chance we got. They had a hotwing bar and AF were allowed to eat in their PTs. So we got to chew on good wings and look at 18 year olds in their tight pants and t-shirts. Like hooters but free and no beer.
Looks like Obama will have a challenger from his own party in 2012 for sure now!!
