One of the libs biggest fears is a conservative, charismatic African-American swaying African-Americans with convincing arguments. I don't know if this would be Senator Scott, but the libs weren't gonna chance it. Alveda King, the niece of MLK, speaks powerfully on abortion and other issues. When she tried to enter Coretta Scott King's funeral, she was turned away at the entrance. Boehner was invited to speak but he probably correctly realized there would be film of him receiving massive boos from African-Americans.
Yeah, he worked for his position instead of having it handed to him, that makes him part of the heteronormative xtian bigot threat to progress!
He wouldn't be the first senator to be censored, that would be Ron Paul.

What I find interesting is that a lot of Black Conservatives essentially say the same thing that MLK essentially says here, but they get hated and shut down. I doubt that it would cause a revolution though I think that if anything he would be hated even more.
In other news accounts of this, Sen. Scott was very dignified and respectful in his response to not being invited, stating that, "The senator believes today is a day to remember the extraordinary accomplishments and sacrifices of Dr. King, Congressman John Lewis, and an entire generation of black leaders. Today’s anniversary should simply serve as an opportunity to reflect upon how their actions moved our country forward in a remarkable way." Sen. Scott is classy. His liberal/Democrat counterparts--not so much.

Since MLK was himself most likely a Republican, it's an insulting slight that Scott wouldn't be invited. This event was commemorating the 50th anniversary of a civil rights gathering initiated by a black Republican. Yep, that's where MLK gave his famous speech, at an event organized by a Republican while Democrat President Kennedy had him under surveillance by the FBI.

Senator Scott could not be invited, he goes against every thing that todays current civil rights (poverty pimps) stand for. Self reliance, self-determination and hard work are things that the likes of jack ass, charlatan, King III and all the other speakers from yesterday can not stand for. There is no money, power and prestige in it for them.
The mainstream media (check Yahoo) is too busy harping on the fact Bohner and McConnel weren't there. Never mind the fact McConnel was there at the actual march. Because raaaaaacist. I would love to know if Condi Rice, Mia Love, or Allen West were invited. Liberals don't like it when minorities of any kind (Latino, Asian and gay included) stray from the plantation ( the Chicago Pride parade I went to when people were booing and throwing things at the Log Cabin Republicans was my last. Apparently diversity is only important when you tow the party line). A little off topic I know, but I have an extreme aversion to hypocrasy.
What many forget that there where all kinds of "white people" at the march and speech. Today's "leaders" can't have it known that most of America is not the racist America that they are presenting to their followers (sheep).
No matter how hard you try, or attempt to legislate out of existence racism, bigotry and hypocrisy there will always be those that harbor hatred in their hearts and actions.
It was an event of the democrat party, by the democrat party, and for the democrat party. If you're not a card-carrying member you don't get in.
But the Republicans are the ones blocking any kind of bipartisan agreement.
