Angry Indian demonstrators shout, “Obama go home”

A gaggle of Indian leftists groups protested President Obama’s visit to their country on Saturday, shouting “Obama go home.”

Hey, c’mon, India, give us a break. We’ve had the guy for two years. Isn’t it someone else’s turn yet?

  • India is not my favorite country in the world. I would like to visit of course but it is not perfect. Christian and the so called Dalit are increasingly oppressed and persecuted at least once a day in different part of the country. A couple of years ago Indians massacred and burned to the ground a town, Orissa, populated mainly by Christians and to this day the Indian government hasn't found the people, made no real arrests and the people of Orissa still need help. They are not the only ones though as I mentioned. Indias has a lot of issues and opening our markets to them without any restrictions is not good news. Not for us and not for a lot of people in India either. For him to go there and as a supposed Christian that he supposedly is and not speak to the human rights violations of India was distasteful to me. At least Bush when he went to China showed support to the persecuted Christian in his way (something the media didnt really talk about that much wonder why).

  • Ironic that it is the left who objects to Obama. Of course "american imperialism" is such an old saw that is cuts the credibility of the protestors. Wasn't that an old communist term?

  • I love how BO can with a straight face say a trade deal with India will help the economy. Why do I have a feeling this deal will just result in more unintelligible customer service calls and a few thousand more Dr.s that cant speak English yet fill out prescriptions in it.

    Well, he will eventually, unfortunately, after the whole junket has cost you yanks an arm and a leg, and he's emitted a whole state's worth of CO2 (not that CO2 production is an issue, it isn't, but if he spouts that it is, then I would have thought he'd be keen to set an example - silly me!).

  • You'd think Indian leftists would welcome Obama as a fellow socialist. But with communist nitwits reflexive anti-Americanism always comes first.

    • Actually, the socialists/communists hate his guts -- he screwed them, too. With all the visibility he gave them, their cause was set back for years. (not that I'm crying over that.) Barry shat in his own backyard, the socialist's backyard, the US' backyard, and everywhere else.

      Unlike the Golden Midas, whose touch turned everything to gold, he's the Brown Midas, whose touch turns everything to sh*t.

      • Keep something else in mind, the folks in India also know about jihadi's when they see them. Obama won't stand up & call the enemy what they are, jihadi's. India has had to deal with Pakistan ever since they gained independence, & they have had to fight islamic nutjobs who come from there. At least 4 wars that I know of. I have a feeling that India sees Obama as weak on terrorism, & in their eyes, that might mean Pakistan, on top of other nations/trouble spots.

    • Maybe, but the people of India understand how to grow an economy, Obama does'nt. Plus, life in Mumbai is crazy enough without Obama & his 3,000 strong army screwing things up. Everything is blocked off for security reasons & people who own buisinesses can't operate because nobody can get to them & it is all a total pain in the ass. Why? Because Obama had to run away from his election results, what a loser.
