Another left wing talk station goes dark. KJFK (check out those call letters) in Reno, Nevada, will cease broadcasting after 8 years of progressive talk radio. Yes, yes, that’s the radio station where J.P.’s Moment of Common Sense was getting aired for the last two months, and where I was co-hosting Broad View on Saturday evenings… but it wasn’t me that brought the station down, swear to God!

I'd have patronized their advertisers if they'd have had any. It's tough to make it in Radio Land when you have to play the same public service announcements "sponsored by this station and the Ad Council" 6 times an hour and the rest of it is only New Age massage, a hookah lounge and bead shops.
No kidding. When I actually lived in Reno I gauged the success of the show on how many of those public service ads they ran. Now I can't hear the ads - they cut my sound off during breaks. Very frustrating.
Keep a radio in the studio and turn it up during the breaks.
In two weeks, J.P.’s Moment of Common Sense and Broad View are moving to Reno’s 101.3 FM on Saturday’s from 11-2pm (livestream at http://www.renegaderadio.org). So we survived even though KJFK did not. Hopefully we don’t close down another place because that would look bad…
What are you doing on a progressive talk show? The token conservative voice?
We were always on a conservative talk station, but a couple months ago the progressive station offered a better time slot. They didn't tell us they were about to go belly up. Now we're going to a Christian station. I'll have to watch my language a bit but it's a better fit for me.

It does seem odd that they folded shortly after we arrived. Either we were the straw that broke the camel's back or the too-little-too-late solution that didn't work. Jay tried to move her opinions left to accommodate the audience. I didn't move nothin'.
I noticed she did...she even called you the "conservative voice" while looking down her nose (yes I could hear that)... and agreeing with every liberal point of view regardless of how asinine that view might have been (IMHO). FWIW, I think to was of the "too little too late variety of failure for that particular station...On to the next, JP.
They have any ammo left at Cabela's? and congrats on continuing your show.
