Australian government confiscates $360 million of private bank accounts. Before they were voted out of power, the Labor Party passed a law saying any bank account that sits idle for three years belongs to the government. So if you happen to be a retired person who set something aside for a rainy day, or a parent with an account for your child’s college education, or a farmer with an emergency fund… you’re screwed.
