President Peter Principle hasn’t been briefed on the Solyndra scandal

President Peter Principle hasn’t been briefed on the Solyndra scandal. Because, well, because Press Secretary Jay Carney says there’s no reason for him to be briefed. I’ve always believed that your course in life is strongly influenced by the name you’re either burdened by or blessed with. Case in point: When a guy’s name is Carney he has no hope of ever being more than a sniveling, conniving liar.

President Peter Principle wants to bypass Congress

President Peter Principle wants to bypass Congress. “As I mentioned when I was at La Raza a few weeks back, I wish I had a magic wand and could make this all happen on my own,” President Obama told the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. “There are times where — until Nancy Pelosi is speaker again — I’d like to work my way around Congress.” His Teleprompter must have been on the blink because Obama certainly didn’t mean he wanted a magic wand. No, we’re pretty sure he meant an orb and scepter and, perhaps, a magnificent bejeweled crown set upon his head at a jaunty angle.

Obama: “Folks will look back and say, ‘You know, he wasn’t a bad captain of the ship.'”

Obama: “Folks will look back and say, ‘You know, he wasn’t a bad captain of the ship.’” “Ultimately,” President Obama said, “I’m going to be judged by whether we have stayed focused on making sure that this economy is moving in the right direction. And like the captain of a ship in a storm, you know, when the ship is rocking and people are getting hurt, they’re not going to be happy, no matter how good the captain’s doing. Now, my hope is that when we are on the other side of it, folks will look back and say, “You know, he wasn’t a bad captain of the ship.” The Captain of the Titanic said the same thing.

“If you love me, you’ll help me pass this bill.”

“If you love me, you’ll help me pass this bill.” Is it just us or does President Obama sound like a teenage boy in the back seat of a Buick trying to convince his reluctant girlfriend to have sex. “If you love me, you’ll prove it.” In both cases, somebody’s getting screwed.

Maureen Dowd really is an awful writer.

Maureen Dowd really is an awful writer. Buried near the end of her latest rambling screed in the New York Times is this paragraph: “The reawakened Republicans are no longer the loyal opposition. They’re revolutionary Bolsheviks who want to eat Obama alive.” Mixed metaphors and gross overstatement be damned. Full speed ahead. (Finally, though, we know exactly what happened to the Romanovs. They were eaten by the Bolsheviks.)

Hugo Chavez brings in shamans to cure his cancer

chavez-shaman

Hugo Chavez brings in shamans to cure his cancer. He says he’s fine. He says that Cuban chemo is working just dandy. But what the hell, a guy’s gotta cover all his bases. “Shamans from tribes in Venezuela’s Amazon jungle held a ceremony at the Miraflores presidential palace Saturday to help Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez recover from his cancer treatment. Chavez, who insists that he was “not sick but recovering” from cancer, greeted the shamans wearing a tracksuit in the colors of the Venezuelan national flag and wore a crown of feathers the visitors gave him.” Our suggestion? Leaches. They’d probably do it for free as a professional courtesy.

Don’t miss it: George Bush’s inspirational Flight 93 Memorial speech

Don’t miss it: George Bush’s inspirational Flight 93 Memorial speech. Former President George W. Bush gave a beautiful, heartfelt speech Saturday in Shanksville, Pennsylvania to commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9-11. Even Joe Biden and Bill Clinton joined the standing ovation.

Obama works on his stand-up act, says, “This isn’t class warfare.”

Obama works on his stand-up act, says “This isn’t class warfare.” President Obama’s not known as a funny guy, yet his address to Congress contained one unintentionally funny line that made the Republicans actually laugh out loud. “This isn’t political grandstanding,” the President said. “This isn’t class warfare. This is simple math. These are real choices that we have to make.” He should have ended the address with “Thank you. Thank you very much. I’ll be here all week. Please tip your server.”

A video history of liberals “toning down the rhetoric”

A video history of liberals “toning down the rhetoric”. Asking liberals to tone down the rhetoric is like asking a zebra to tone down its stripes. Or asking Al Sharpton to tone down the stupidity. Or asking Ed Schultz to tone down the spittle. Or asking … well, you get the idea.

Al Gore don’t get no respect: Only 24% consider him an expert on global warming

Al Gore don’t get no respect: Only 24% consider him an expert on global warming. Al Gore has turned into global warming’s answer to Rodney Dangerfield. “Despite winning a Nobel Prize and an Oscar for his work in the global warming area, most voters don’t consider former Vice President Al Gore an expert on the subject. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters shows that just 24% of voters consider Gore an expert on global warming. Fifty-nine percent (59%) do not think Gore is an expert on the subject, an increase in skepticism of 12 points since March 2007.” In other words, the sex poodle has been neutered.

Another reason the Democrats are going to lose Anthony Weiner’s seat in Congress

Another reason the Democrats are going to lose Anthony Weiner’s seat in Congress. According to the latest poll, Republicans are about to pull off the upset of the century by picking up Anthony Weiner’s former Congressional seat in a district with a 3-to-1 advantage for the Democrats.

For god’s sake, man, this should not surprise anyone. David Weprin, the Democrat candidate, looks exactly like Jeffrey Jones, the actor best known for (1) playing the principal in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, (2) being convicted for possession of child porn, and (3) Palling around with Pee Wee Herman, who was first convicted of, as George Costanza said in Seinfeld, “pleasuring himself” in a movie theater, and later convicted of possession of child porn.

Seriously, can you tell one from the other?

Presenting the Republicans’ response to President Obama’s long-awaited job speech, Miss Peggy Lee

Presenting the Republicans’ response to President Obama’s long-awaited job speech, Miss Peggy Lee. “The economy’s going up in flames, and we look at President Obama and say, ‘Is that all there is?’ Then let’s keep dancing, let’s bring out the booze, and let’s have a ball.”

Keith Olbermann has had it up to here with Barack Obama

Keith Olbermann has had it up to here with Barack Obama. Yes, Olbermann’s still on the air over at Al Gore’s Current TV, the network no one watches. And he’s very unhappy that President Obama ran from his own stricter smog standards like a little girl from a bug.

Gallup: Obama’s now bleeding blacks and Hispanics

Gallup: Obama’s now bleeding blacks and Hispanics. “During the month, Gallup interviewed 1,183 Hispanics and 48 percent of them said they approved of the job Obama was doing as president. Gallup also interviewed 1,137 blacks during August and 84 percent said they approved of the job Obama was doing.” Only 84% among blacks? Consider it official: President Obama’s approval rating is now uglier than Maxine Waters.

Bob Beckel says Bobby Jindal “reminded me of a call center ad in Mumbai”

Liberal hypocrisy alert: Bob Beckel says Bobby Jindal “reminded me of a call center ad in Mumbai”. Had a conservative said something like this the liberal wailing and caterwauling would have gone on for weeks, cries of racism would be heard on every newscast, and Jesse Jackson would suddenly find great compassion for his sub-continental brothers. Especially if there was a TV camera nearby.
