Alright, I can't stand it. I got a weepy heart. Look how hard everybody here works. Long hours at one job or shorter hours at three. Yeah it sucks that you toil away for less than half of what you earn. And yeah it might be easier to do nothing. But that is no kind of life. That is no way to accomplish anything.
I imagine that if you put your mind to it and went out and got a job and worked at it for a while you'd feel pretty good about yourself. Yeah you might not get much to begin with, but it would be yours. And you would be on the road to something better.
So try it. Make something out of yourself. You owe it to yourself.

The only difference between that and welfare is they expect a return on the investment. You are expected to get a job and support yourself at the very least. You, for a 28 year old, have been a waste of money, classroom space, and air. You can't even offer to pay your poor parents a measly $70 a week to help cover your expenses. I was paying that to my parents the minute I graduated High School, 18 years before you were born, during the Carter depression. Even in that lousy economy, I managed to make enough money to pay my own way, and that was a full 7 years AFTER we went off the gold standard, so you lose that talking point as well.

Some scholarships are earned or awarded for academic excellence, a talent such as music, or athletics (I'm certain none of those apply to you). Other scholarships are simply needs based and the money distributed from tax dollars and/or the fees and tuition paid by wealthier families. In other words redistributed.
I want to cry for America when I see you arguing that charity in the form of scholarship money is something you "earned."

And now only that, Walmart ENCOURAGES employees to get on public benefits because they are too greedy to pay them a living wage. It took years.. It never occurred to me to get welfare or assistance. I used to sell my plasma. I kinda thought i was mooching a little when I joined the Army, TBH.. So MUCH food..! But it was peacetime (90s) and never felt like sacrifice.. i didn't catch the marriage bug like so many of my buddies (Basic & AIT do that to a guy, i guess). So that helped.. deployments are super rough on families

Entry level is where you get to prove you're capable of doing more. When I was a teenager my dad told me to offer to work for free. "Ask them if you can sweep their floor - no charge. That's how you get in the door." See how what works? Apprentices don't make shit compared to the regular guys. When I got out of college I went to work for a CPA firm for $12,000. No way I could buy a house and get married. But two years of that and you get your own CPA certificate and they have to pay you more. Meanwhile you've proved you can add two plus two and deserve more. It's been this way for centuries, maybe millennia. Liberals are the only people who don't seem to get it.
