Ayatollah says sexy women cause earthquakes

Angelina Jolie

Start storing up your canned goods and bottled water, Hollywood. Based on this news just in from Tehran, you’re about to be devastated by the worst earthquakes in history.

The Australian sizes up the seismographic details:

A SENIOR Iranian cleric has claimed that dolled-up women incite extramarital sex, causing more earthquakes in Iran, a country that straddles several fault lines, newspapers reported today.

“Many women who dress inappropriately … cause youths to go astray, taint their chastity and incite extramarital sex in society, which increases earthquakes,” Ayatollah Kazem Sedighi told worshippers at overnight prayers in Tehran.

“Calamities are the result of people’s deeds,” he was quoted as saying by reformist Aftab-e Yazd newspaper.

“We have no way but conform to Islam to ward off dangers.”

Angelina. Jolie. Must. Be. Stopped.

  • AND PEOPLE THINK WE CAN DISCUSS LOGIC WITH THESE FOLKS?! Puleeze. Not only are they clearly uneducated at best, but they are misogynists as well. So many things in their culture are based in keeping women from "tempting" men because the men can't seem to keep their pants zipped. Talk about lack of personal responsibility and projection!

  • Chuck, chuck,chuck,
You dumbass. Pat Robertson nor most other Christian ministers do not have a problem with good looking, well dressed women. You've obviously never watched the 700 Club or set foot in a large metropolitan church.
We Christians truly appreciate beautiful women.

    • I was simply referencing Robertson's recent remarks concerning the earthquake in Haiti and his belief it was tied to some alleged early Nineteenth century choice of its citizens to reject Christianity and accept Voodoo as their national religion, or something to that effect.

      • Well, Robertson's statement about Haiti is not entirely implausible.
Given that there are many Old Testament passages where the prophets exhort the people to follow God's way, that they may choose a blessing or a curse - to choose His way of living and conducting their affairs (which is what most of our western law- civil and criminal was originally based upon) Deut. 11:26.
If in fact Bookman did make a pact with the devil to serve him for 200 years-(I did find many references on the web to that occurring and there is an iron pig statue in Port-a-prince) then why is that so hard to believe? Why is it so hard to believe in the supernatural when some socalled scientists who only believe in evolution have even put forth theories that extra terrestrials as the ones who planted life on earth billions of years ago? And that theory is actually entertained!!!!!
Look around the world, countries that have embraced Christianity(albeit, imperfectly) have tended to prosper and have greater civil liberties whereas those that have held to "traditional" pagan religions have tended to stay about 3 or 4 centuries behind the curve. Why is it The Dominican Republic that does not embrace santeria doing so much better economically?Looks like a self imposed curse to me.

        • There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent , ye shall all likewise perish . Or those eighteen , upon whom the tower in Siloam fell , and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent , ye shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:1-5).

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9)

          • I think it goes back to the willingness to turn away from G-d and the consequences of that willful action. Sadly that action can have effects for people down the generations too.

If you read Isaiah, G-d makes it really clear that those who are willingly blind and deaf even though everything was placed in front of them to see that they are sinners and in need of a redemptor there will come a time when the Lord will not longer be silent and will have to exercise justice upon these people. So in that case yes the Lord Himself does bring judgement on people. Isaiah even says it in those terms that people bring judgments upon their heads. Is not only Isaiah is in Psalms and many other places in the First and Second Testaments.

With that said though you are right in saying that Jesus' purpose is to bring salvation to as many people who want it, He though does not enforce it on people, because if He did then what would be the point of His death? So there has to be people that willingly deny themselves salvation and then obviously there is consequence for that.

It is not right to say that in all cases people who die horrible deaths or accidents or thing like those may have deserved it due to something that they did or their ancestors did. After all people are persecuted, jailed and martyred every day for the sake of the Cross and they don't deserve it at all. However there are times when people willingly allow evil in their lives, then in His time, the Lord does intervene and does something that is meant to get their attention so those that survive can repent (hopefully). Who knows maybe those that die get a talk to, as I believe it is in 1 Peter (I could be wrong) where there is a statement that the death also get to learn about Christ. I can only assume then that at that point in time they have a chance to make a final decision. However this is theological and there are a lot of camps about that.

In any case, I see your point, but I also see the other poster's point. It is harsh to say that everyone that doesn't die a peaceful death in their bed when they are old deserve what was coming to them for something done in the past. That cannot be the case in all circumstances. However there are circumstances when people as a whole or individuals lead their lives away from G-d willingly and with knowledge that is what they are doing, when things happen and they are not good.

I just feel that there is a middle ground here somewhere and we won't know the why's until or if He feels like letting us know why. Do what we can is all we can do.

          • Well Christian people should love everyone beautiful outside or not right? :-).

The main point being though that although Christian women and men are called to dress appropriately and modestly and not pose a problem for a weaker brother and sister, there is also the situation that people are called to personal responsibility and self discipline.

It is not correct for me to sashay in my lace underwear in front of a man whom is not my husband or I know has porn/sexual issues, but obviously I cannot control a guy for having issues when I go out on the street and I wear appropriate clothes but that are form fitted or even something like shorts. Personal accountability has to come into play somewhere. I should be free to wear clothes that I want to wear as long as my intentions are not disgusting and they are appropriate to the situation.

Muslims do not have this type of mentality. Women overall have no rights or their rights are restricted. It is all the women's fault if the men have impure thoughts at all times and under any circumstance. Then if he decides to act upon those impulses and doesn't exercise self control, it is still the women's fault. That is BS to the nth degree.

  • Kimmy-the koran is all about subjugating women. it openly approves of and encourages the rape of young girls-it is a sick cult Islam-and the left wing establishment in this country love it! Remember, half of the congress are moral reprobates. barney frank has prostitution rings run out of not 1 but 2 of his apartments/houses. Nancy Pelosi once rode a float in the SF "gay pride" parade with the founder of NAMBLA. They are a sick lot, which is why they support Islam. They also all work for a muslim president, so it stands to reason!

    • I don't understand how feminists embrace Islam, nor how can they be okay with people that believe that pedophilia should be legal. It is so disgusting.

  • If said in jest, this would be a great pick up line.

What a way. It is not the men and the women who mutually engage in sexual "misbehaviors" that are fault it is ONLY the women. What is up with Islam? The need to keep women down is preposterous, the hypocrisy that men can do whatever they want is disgusting. I dont care what anyone says their god is not the G-d of the Jews and Christians.

    • In the spirit of that other thread with all the references to Blazing Saddles, "Harumph! Harumph!"

      • I truly would like to know the reference. It is my embarrassment that I have never seen that movie/show. I have heard the name just never seen it.

        • You have had a deprived childhood. You can see it on TV, but it has been cut and modified for a TV audience. I recommend you immediately beg borrow or steal a copy and watch the original. Premedicate with some pain relievers-your abs and sides will be sore from laughing!

          • I have a couple of good excuses. I wasn't born when the movie came out and a little less or a little over 20 years after it came out when I would have probably been able to see and understand it, I don't think it played in my country of origin. I really do not recall this movie on TV then. I have been in this country for ten years now and I really cannot recall it being on TV to tell you the truth. I have come to hear references of it though in (adult oriented) cartoons and things like that like you Family Guy, or other TV shows, but never got the reference.

I will try to find a copy though and watch it, it seems interesting. I like Mel Brooks' movies overall.

        • Don't be embarrassed KQ. Blazing Saddles is one of the best uses of absurdity to illustrate the idiocy of bigotry EVAH! You would probably like it.

In the movie, there's a scene where the Governor (The Honorable William J. Lepetomane, played by Mel Brooks) is holding a cabinet meeting and when he makes what he thought was a salient point, his lackeys realized they should be agreeing verbally. They did so by saying, "Harumph! Harumph!" Sort of like saying, "Amen!" in church.

That is, unless I am wrong, have missed the real meaning of "Harumph! Harumph!" these past 36 years and, therefore, must stand corrected.

          • After a quick read at Wikipedia and IMDB I am a bit up to speed. It looks interesting I may rent it. I like Mel Brooks' movies, just never seen this one. Every once in a while there is a Blazing Saddle references in cartoons and things like that but I never got it, obviously the people making the show would have seen it growing up.
