They were on Hannity last night. They expressed themselves well...
All in all because he said that the so called gay marriage is sinful in their point of view, they don't want to participate in it, whereas if a gay person came in for a birthday cake, they don't consider that a sin because well obviously everyone has a birthday and there is no sin in their view in celebrating a birthday... That is a good point that he made. The interesting thing is that Jehovah Witnesses (I think is them) do not celebrate birthdays to them is that is sinful so of course if I know this why would I want to force them to bake me a birthday cake? If Muslims believe that pork is gross, why would I force them to bake me a birthday cake in the shape of a pig? It's the same thing!

Yes, that is the Jehovah's Witnesses. They don't celebrate anything, not even Christmas. I asked a girl out when I was in High School, we worked together, and the restaurant we worked at was having a Christmas party. I asked her to go with me, and she told me that she was a Jehovah, and they don't celebrate such things. She thanked me for the invitation, but she wasn't going to the party.
I was married to one for ten years. They say that holidays are based on a Pagan calendar. Worked fine for me, I never liked holidays to begin with. What she couldn't explain was, why did she want to celebrate our anniversary?
Ah, we!!, I went along with it, she's a wonderful woman.
Anniversaries are not holidays they are hallmarks of time passing, but since they don't celebrate birthdays which is not a holiday either, but the essential hallmark of time passing, then she shouldn't have been keen to celebrate the anniversary either. In the end she wanted to have a special day for the two of you which is kind of romantic.
Since I didn't have to bother with all the other days, I always made sure something really special happened for our anniversary.
