Gay Nazis on parade: Bakery may be evicted for refusing to bake gay cookies

gay cookies

A little clarification may be in order: When we say gay cookies, we don’t mean little gingerbread men holding hands and demanding the right to have a gingerbread preacher join them in holy matrimony.

Let’s just let OneNewsNow explain the details:

An Indianapolis cookie shop could be evicted from its longtime location for refusing a special order from a college homosexual group.

The bakery “Just Cookies” has operated in a city-owned market for over 20 years. The president of the board that oversees the market told the Indianapolis Star that he would “hate to lose them” as a tenant — but that could very well happen because owner David Stockton took a moral stand and did not want to endorse homosexual activity.

Controversy arose this week after the owners of the bakery cited moral objections to a special-order request for rainbow-decorated cookies for next week’s “National Coming Out Day” observance at a nearby university campus. Stockton told the caller he did not feel comfortable in supporting homosexual values, especially because it would not set a good example for his two daughters.

Micah Clark of the American Family Association of Indiana says there are reports the city might evict Stockton, citing a local “anti-discrimination” statute.

Gay cookies. Add a little extra sugar and a pinch of spice and the next thing you know, Barney Frank is your best customer.

  • Elect Paladino as Governor and let him use a Baseball Bat... Be careful what you say about Gays or you'll be considered out of the Main Stream by everyone, even Fox these days. F Um...

  • There are many potential shapes, sizes and colours of cookies that could offend - certainly the powers that be wouldn't make a distinction based upon whose Ox is being gored, so the only solution is to shut down all bakeries until they can be appropriately controlled.

  • Too bad they didn't want "rainbow baklava" .... I'd love to hear them demanding a Muslim bakery to make it for them ....
    mv

p.s. Doesn't the baker have rights under the 1st Amendment?

  • The day is coming when a church that refuses to sanction a gay marriage is going to be labeled a hate group.

    • It has come... There are pastors who are going to prison, went to prison or almost went to prison for speaking out against gay marriage or homosexuality in general (google Ake Green and read http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/723946/posts) mostly in other countries but here too or simply being labeled hateful like Rick Warren (who is a weak ass pastor and backtracked). If you haven't heard about it is because the media doesn't want to make them martyrs however a "pastor" or a former pastor that is evil or does something evil gets a lot of play.

    • "This was a set-up.
Seriously: a bunch of gay guys and none of them could bake their own cookies?"

Got that right. What happened to buying a bag of 'rainbow" M&M's and sprinkling them on top of those ready made, slice'n'bake cookies? They would do Martha proud...

    • Interesting.

It wasn't NECESSARY to take the extra step of EXPLAINING what the cookies were for that way they could protect the conscience of the baker. He could have FIGURED out what they were for, but without actually knowing he could have done it and wish them a good day. Why was it necessary to tell the what the cookies were for? (unless he asked did he?)

So they just wanted acceptance of their lifestyle by this bake for some reason... or they wanted to set him up for whatever reason.

      • Kimmy, that just seems so obvious. Why go out of your way to start something? Why not just say "A bakers dozen of these pink ones." and leave the politics alone. Today's society encourages whining. Add a flock of trial lawyers, and what a mess we have.

        Vote often! Democrats do!

    • Thats what I was thinking. There's got to be more to this story...like they wanted rainbow cookies which would have been fine. Then they went and asked a special ingredient be baked in. Something like shum-wads (google it).

    • It's "QUEER as a $3 bill." $3 bills aren't "gay"; they're "queer," as in "peculiar," or (dare I say?) "unnatural."

  • Yes, but did the cookies choose to be gay, or were they born that way?

Poor gay cookies, just wanted a big straight guy to handle them, whats so wrong with that?

    • we need to force the gay cookies in with packs of non gay cookies, despite their objections. So we can say they are accepted by said cookies. However that doesn't mean the gay cookies can't have their own packs put up for sale, but nongay cookies *have* to be sold with gay cookies. It is the only way we can force those dastard cookies to accept such brightly colored food.

  • C'mon, just take a dump in the mix - and charge them $100 per cookie for the privilege. That'd make ME gay* for sure.

    Bat doo-doo

    * happy, filled with mirth.
