Bay Area faces new high-speed rail costs

• Can't say I'm surprised, we all knew this was coming. Already over budget even before the planning stage is completed. This is going to make the Big Dig look frugal.

  • Think how high the revised estimates will go by the time they actually break ground.

    • It'll make the national debt look like my credit card bill.

      • With my credit going the way it has been, the card offers now show up in the mail marked "pre-declined."

        • I know what you mean. I don't actually have any credit cards.

• 1. The boondoggle will never be completed.
  2. It will cost $200 billion to have it never completed.
  3. What does get built will be looted before a single train runs on the rails.

  The only good thing that can come from this is that Moonbeam's tax hikes got derailed.

• Nothing gets the blood flowing faster than a high-speed train ride through an underwater tunnel that crosses active earthquake fault lines. You couldn't pay me to ride that damn thing... I mean, assuming it ever gets built.

  • We already have this. It's called BART.

• High speed rail is going to be a bottomless money pit, bankrupting California---and it will probably never be completed.

        • indeed, i did go overboard. I wasn't hacked, well, i was HACKED OFF but once again, I found the source of my disruption was an errant, human sinful man (um, that'd be me, in case y'all wondering) and yet again, i've been very condemning towards others, and that was/is wrong.
          I had a chance to work doing gardening today. And i took time to commune with my God, and seek his favor, rather than be a hatemonger. I find the problem with a living sacrifice is i keep sliding of the altar.
          I apologize to all who were disturbed, upset, angry or even just a bit ticked.
          I do feel a close friendship/brotherhood, with many of you and I am ashamed that I did not represent Jesus at all well.

• Projections have the tunnel actually being used as part of the rail boondoggle in 2028. Of course, there will have to be many more hundreds of billions spent to get the rail from Madera to SF. Then people in SF can visit Bakersfield on the train. Cool!
