We’re officially residing in the Twilight Zone. In a case that’s the first of its kind, black students have sued other black students for creating a racially-hostile environment at their school.
Two South Carolina students and members of their family have reached a $150,000 settlement in a harassment case.
Lawrence “Larry” Kobrovsky, attorney for the plaintiffs said, “You have a culture where to act like you want to do well in school is considered acting white. And that is part of why we’re saying that it was racial, even though the students were all of the same race because they weren’t acting how the others thought they should be acting as members of that race.”
Dolan Media told the rest of the story:
The uncle testified that racial separation in the county generally meant white students attended private schools while black students attended public schools.
At the public schools, he said, fitting in meant not being what his family was: “churchy,” “upright” and wanting education, as another witness put it, according to a trial transcript.
“You see, it’s a crime to act white, or it’s a crime to be white,” the uncle testified.
Harassment, he testified, made him feel that “we are just dumb, we’re just not people, we’re undergraded, we’re degraded, and we’re not even supposed to be in this world.”
This is where we are during the post-racial presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. We’re no longer being judged by the color of our skin, but by the color of our personality.
Not sure this is what Martin Luther King had in mind.

I've never understood the whole "acting white" thing with AA's. Even when I was in high school, back in the 70's, they sabotaged themselves with this bizarre thinking. I don't know how you act a skin color by getting good grades, dressing appropriately and using good grammar. I thought that those were things to aspire to and not have disdain for.
It is not just American Blacks. It is something that permeates to all nations and people of color really. Hispanics and Italians come to mind very forcefully has having THEIR OWN WAY of doing things and if there is someone of their own that differs some can be vocal about it. Most (to all) of the time it is about those that "differ" and their acting like white people. So basically being a white person is something offensive, etc.
When people are slaves to their own ignorance and their perceptions of who they are supposed to be and a false sense of nationalism or (insert your people/race/sexual preference group here) pride, then they feel that being compared to the norm (which is supposedly being white and in some cases straight) is bad and anyone trying to conform to the norm (being white (straight)) are bad and deserters and traitors. It is all part of political correctness and the inability of people to see the truth.
KQ, I could'nt agree with you any more. Very well said. But I will adress one point you made. Being a white person is offensive with some people, esspecially as a white guy. Now I can tell you that I can be offensive, & it has nothing to do with my skin color. It's because I'm smarta$$ & sometimes my humor is offensive to some, & I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.

The writer seems to be surprised at this. He shouldnt be. The only thing that is extraordinary about this situation is that someone actuallyd ecided to do something about it in the form of a lawsuit.
I have been called whitey or other things to indicate that I act white. That is because I got good grades, I didnt act nor I was a whore nor I dressed like one, I didnt speak like a black girl, etc.
I guess being ignorant and acting like a fool is the hallmark of a black person? ha? I say no thank you. I would rather stick with what I know to be right even if I dont seem black enough.
It is gross to see black people that are racists against other people especially other blacks to degrade themselves to that point where they are. It happens though for centuries too even during slavery times there was a great deal of resentment against the blacks who wanted to learn to read and had aspirations. I think that that type of attitude against "acting white" is part of slave mentality.
Sadly there are a lot of black people that are not truly free and dont want others to be.
I am sure that Martin Luther King would be appalled at what fruit the seeds of the Civil Rights movement have borne. It is truly disgusting to see the sacrifices of so many people who wanted liberty and justice and a world where "We will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

Pretty brilliant of all the morons who don't want anyone from their community to be prosperous by STUDYING.....I guess that is exactly what the Libs want-subservient slaves to the gubment checks, cheese, and health care. jesse jackass and al dullton don't give speeches about the importance of education, or being pillars of communities-neither does Reverend Wrong...they all just talk about getting free shit from the gubment-so this comes as really no surprise. I will say this-those kids...the ones who go to church, study, and act human, rather than like street thugs, are very lucky they have parents who aren't swayed by the moronic leaders that the black community keeps on holding in high esteem! The kids are lucky they have good parents-and maybe, just maybe the other kids involved, and their parents will see that the kids and parents doing the right thing, just may be on to something!
