Funniest global warming story of the day: Blizzard ruins global warming protest

There are days when we just don’t feel funny. It’s days like that when we thank Gaia for news items like this:

A global warming protest scheduled in Salt Lake City has been cancelled because of a blizzard.

The Salt Lake Tribune provides the frozen details:

“Not many people showed up because of the blizzard conditions,” said organizer Clea Major, an international studies student at the University of Utah.

It didn’t take long for the six friends to pack up a bullhorn and posters they’d planned to use for their “scream-in,” an outlet for their frustration about the failure of the Copenhagen climate talks earlier this month to curb the pollution blamed for climate change

Still, they chatted with a few passers-by during the commuter-hour protest near the Gateway, and explained that, blizzard aside, climate change is expected to bring chaos to the global climate, said Major.

She called Wednesday evening’s effort a success and possibly the first in a series. As for the snow, it’s not entirely new; a protest she attended last year in Washington, D.C., suffered a similar fate.

“There is always the irony element,” Major said.

Well, don’t feel too badly, Clea. We’re all at the mercy of the elements.

  • Did she just say they were at the mercy of the elements????/
    I did not think it was the elements, I thought global warming was all our fault, so is she saying there are elements at play here other than man made global warming,,,,really!!

    So it’s not all our fault’s and there may be things out of our control like say hmmmm, the sun, gravitational pull, the world coming out of an ice age, that al gore is a liar and she is a follower and never loved by her parents.

    Explain this to me;
    How is a carbon tax going to save the world??? I will pay you money if you make any since in your answer 

    Happy new year
