Bobby Ghosh and Chuck Todd: Ignorance x ignorance = another typical day at MSNBC

Bobby Ghosh and Chuck Todd

Many people wonder why mainstream journalists seem to be at war with Western civilization. Now we have the answer. Turns out they aren’t fighting the Judeo-Christian worldview – they simply don’t have a clue what “Judeo-Christian” means.

Chuck Todd, filling in for Chris Matthews on MSNBC’s Hardball, interviewed Time Magazine’s World Editor Bobby Ghosh, who tried to make excuses for Muslim murder rampages in the wake of the Florida Koran burning by explaining that burning the Koran is more “inflammatory” than burning a Bible:

“The Bible is a book written by men. It is acknowledged by Christians that it is written by men. It’s the story of Jesus.”

Actually, only the New Testament is the story of Jesus, Bobby, and the Bible is considered the Word of God, although Christians and Jews are open-minded enough to admit physically putting the words on paper. And by the way, Bobby, the Muslims apparently agree about the Word of God thing, because they borrowed most of the Old Testament for their Koran.

“If you’re a Muslim, the Koran is directly the word of God, not written by man. It is transcribed, it is directly the word of God. That makes it sacred in a way that it’s hard to understand if you’re not Muslim. So the act of burning a Koran is much more… potentially much, much more inflammatory than than if you were to burn a … burn a Bible.”

Naturally, the brain-dead Chuck Todd enthusiastically agreed, repeatedly interjecting the phrase “Directly attacking God, uh-huh, uh-huh” while Ghosh spoke.

While it’s mind-boggling that Time’s World Editor could be this ignorant about Christianity, the religion of one third of the world’s people, and that an American MSNBC reporter could be so uneducated about his own culture, even more mind-boggling is that they used the word “inflammatory” in a discussion about burning Korans and Bibles and didn’t laugh.

  • It's just that people of other religions aren't as willing to murder as muscum are, did those to idiots mention that?

  • Hmmm... let's see if I've got this right:

No one really knows who wrote the Koran, but it is generally attributed to a single source (Mohamed) transmitted orally, committed to memory then recorded anonymously in a short period of time.

Compared to the Bible; written over the course of 1500 years by 40+ named authors from a variety of backgrounds with a single theme running throughout its pages (redemption).

I'll take, "Scriptures that ACTUALLY merit being called 'God's Word' for $1000" Alex.

  • Right, right... so basically NO ONE ELSE'S holy books or scriptures are important ONLY the Koran... right. Overall I wouldn't desecrate books containing the Vedas and Upanishads (Hindi scriptures), even though I have no regard for them in the sense that I don't believe in them nor subscribe to them. This man is an idiot to the nth degree. Islam piggybacks on Judaism and Christianity and this idiot has the nerves to put them down? Some people deserve to be slapped.

  • One more thing that makes the Koran burning issue even more stupid: burning is one of the officially-accepted methods for disposing of Korans. So the local yokel pastor in Florida did nothing that Muslims all over the world don't do themselves ALL THE TIME.

    • While I like your point, I don't thik it's true. BSMNC has been putting idiots like this on as guests & as hosts for years. They have gotten their ass kicked in the ratings the entire time, & they still move forward in the same direction. So I don't think it matters, & many more Americans don't think they matter, judging by the ratings anyway.

  • Hadith (A collection of traditions containing sayings of the prophet Muhammad) tells us that Muhammad was illiterate and was unable to read or write. So of course Muhammad did not write the quran. Muslims claim that Muhammad dictated the whole quran to his followers and many of them memorized the quranic verses word by word and later they wrote it down. The bottom line is that no one knows for sure who wrote the quran. Muslims have claimed that the quran is the word of God because it was written in first person speech unlike the Bible, where third person speech is used. But the very first chapter of the quran is written in the third person speech. There are many surahs which are written in third person speech so the quran is not the word of God. It is the evil teachings of a false prophet.

Throughout the New Testament of the Holy Bible, there are warnings of both false prophets and false Messiahs, and believers are adjured to be vigilant. The following verses (Matthew 7:15–23) are from the Sermon on the Mount:

"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."

  • Hmm. I think some people need to actually learn a little bit about Christianity before actually speaking about what people think and don't think.

Maybe I've just been wrong in my beliefs all these years and it took this stand up guy to actually make me change my mind. I guess I should thank him by burning a Koran or something.

    • It's weird how people tend to believe the unbelievable, yet refuse to believe whats right in front of them. Sad.

  • Patrick McManus once said there is no force more powerful than shared ignorance.

    Case in point.

  • Notice how no one in the MSM calls them out on this. Their collective ignorance is amazing. These self-absorbed nihilists don't understand the basic truths/beliefs associated with Christianity, but insist that they do. "Don't confuse me with the facts, I know the truth!!" Ah, Yes we can!

  • "If you’re a Muslim, the Koran is directly the word of God, not written by man. It is transcribed, it is directly the word of God. That makes it sacred in a way that it’s hard to understand if you’re not Muslim. "

Um...morans? Yes, actually I FULLY understand it, because that's exactly what the bible is. The actual word of God, transcribed by men directly from God. It is His Word. The only reason it's more inflammatory to burn a Koran is because the 5th century barbarians will start bombing people if you burn one, while civilized societies like the US and Israel will write a sternly worded letter if you burn one of theirs.

    • Actually, the Bible was written by holy men "Inspired" by God. The Bible means what it say's, and Say's what it means!

      Hope that helps!
