Based upon this article it appears Scalise knew exactly who he was dealing with. While we’re at it, why is Al Sharpton at the White House all the time? That is as bad as what Scalise did if not worse.

If you were a real, effective opposition leader, you would use every such an incident to flip it back on the dems and control the message. This is what the democrats/communists do so well. For example:
Real opposition leader (in response to criticism of Scalise by MSM reporter): You think this is a big deal? No. This pales in comparison to our president's actions! Obama is hosting protest leaders at the WH who call for riots and the murder of police officers. If you in the media want to focus on meetings, go to the WH and ask about these.
MSM stooge: But Scalise went to KKK...
Real opposition leader: Look, how does this even compare to the murder of police officers that the president's advisers are calling for? Your priorities are out of place. Don't you journOlists care that the WH is agitating for murder? Go ask Obama why he is supporting the of killing cops! That's the REAL story you need to chase.

Sadly, we have no real leaders in the GOP leadership. Some in the rank & file, but none as leaders. Only two plays in the current GOP leadership's playbook:
Offense: 1) punt on 1st down - don't make any waves. Don't take a chance at making a mistake. Don't be proactive on anything (except amnesty).
Defense: 2) prevent - give up ground and hope the opposition does not score again. Let the dems have whet they want and maybe they will be satisfied and not agitate for more.
After the RINO republicams, now the kamikaze republicans, eager to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their God-Emperor.

Here's the thing: No matter what these people's views are, they are still voters and citizens and he is their DULY ELECTED Representative and this is STILL America. I talked to every group that wanted to hear what I had to say when I was the Republican Congressional nominee. No matter whether or not he agrees with their view, they have a right to have their say just as much as Sharpton and the race baiters. As their duly elected Representative, he represents EVERYONE in his district--not just the people he agrees with. There's a name for it an it's in the Constitution, it's called the Bill of Rights and the short name is Freedom of Speech, Expression and Association. If Scalise ignores any of his constituents, he is shirking his duty as their duly elected Representative. What if he ignored all the Democrats because he's a Republican? You'd hear the screaming all the way to DC over it. He is apologizing to appease the race baiters when he has done nothing wrong and should tell them just what I wrote.
