Buffett: Tax Hikes On Rich Would “Raise Morale Of The Middle Class”: Of course it would. Those lucky enough to still be in the middle class, after the Buffet policies place so many of their contemporaries below the poverty line, will feel pretty lucky to have survived this corporatist leech’s efforts to get even richer off of their backs and through ever more government intrusion. Of course if Buffet really felt that rich people paying more taxes would raise moral he could always get the party started by paying up on his own back taxes.

I dont need a boost in morale, I just want money in my bank account. Morale boosts don't bulge up my purse and don't put food in my fridge. He needs to stop thinking about how I feel and stop wanting others to do something they don't want.

The more I think about this comment the more it pisses me off. He thinks that schadenfreude is going to make us all feel better. An analogy would be if 10 uncoordinated teenagers got a thrill out of the the school football star having his leg broken. Now I ask: are the uncoordinated teens any better off? Would the middle class really feel better and be better off knowing that someone whom they don't know would be forced to pay more income tax? Buffett is a piece of crap.

So lets see..Buffet has accountants and lawyers working to keep his taxes to a minimum, he gave Bill Gates a bunch of money for Gates' foundation to get a deduction and he wanders around telling everyone else what they should be paying? Plus you know damn well any tax on a corporation is going to be paid by the consumer...Buffet is full of shit. The only boost to my morale would be if he got taxed into the poor house and he would then STFU.
Part of me says DO IT! 90% on everybody earning over a million a year and eliminate all loopholes. Give the libs everthing they want and watch the stock market/economy die. But - unlike libs - common sense prevails and I realize that at some point we must say NO to new taxes. Politicians will ALWAYS need more of our money to spend & waste. We either take a stand now or there may be no turning back.
Of course, that tax hike on the rich would be spent immediately (because that's what they do in D.C.) and then it will be our turn to pony up. I'm not predicting an uptick in my morale anytime soon.
