You are now entering the Vortex of Bad Presidents: Carter to meet with Obama

This should be entertaining. Miserable failure Jimmy Carter is going to meet with his latter day political doppelganger.

Politico.com has the story of the blind leading the bland:

If at first you don't succeed, give your successor advice on how to succeed

Jimmy Carter wants to see President Barack Obama drop his efforts at bipartisanship during the next two years, and he thinks the president will heed his call.

“In the next two years, President Obama will be much more independent in fighting hard to prevail and not trying to reach out,” the former president said in an interview with CBS News on “Washington Unplugged.” “I think he’ll be a much more tough proponent of what he stands for in the future, giving up on Republicans’ support and taking his case to the American public.”

Meanwhile, Carter will meet with Obama on Tuesday, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed.

Carter had planned to meet with the White House’s national security adviser, Tom Donilon. Obama then asked Carter if he would stop by for a meeting, Gibbs told reporters on Tuesday.

What advice could Carter possibly have? How to handle the Iranian threat? How to improve the economy? How to control a domineering wife?

Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the West Wing.

  • People were worried that the Large Hadron Collider would create a black hole and begin consuming matter, but no one seems to be very concerned that two black holes in such close vicinity could be a problem?

  • I mean I am sorry but is Obama stupid?! He is going to meet with what many have believed the worst President this side of WWII? really?! What wisdom will he have to impart? Obama is a fool to listen to someone like him.

    • Come on KQ. This fool has been listening to Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and his bumble-butt dimwit wife for years! It's only natural!

      • Also..I was under the impression that Obama was the worst president this side of WWII. It is like he took lessons from Carter and then perfected them...

        • Well in this case since Carter is still alive and Obama's Presidency is not done yet, I would say Obama is the worst President this side of 9/11. Although I seriously doubt it, Obama still has two years or so to turn things around... there is still hope as flickering and improbable as it is. If he continues on this path and continues to foul things up then he takes the crown from Carter which I am sure will make Carter happy. Yes he is only the second President from this event, and if there is a chance that he doesn't take Carter's FAIL crown then, basically, all Presidents from this point on are either going to be better than Bush or worst than Obama (Obama being so awful that ANYONE can be better than him), unless we get a President that is as close to Washington or Lincoln as we can get and I seriously doubt we will ever get another Washington or Lincoln for that matter.

Obama sucks man... he just sucks... and listening to Carter is yet another indication of his major ability to suck even more than I would believe it possible.

  • I bet Obama just reminds Carter a lot of himself when he was his age. LOSER!!! Just a little big brotherly advice! What ever! I am curious why Carter has been hovering around so much lately!

  • "Meanwhile, Carter will meet with Obama on Tuesday"

This could be dangerous, like the violent explosion that occurs when matter and
anti-matter collide. On Tuesday the worst ex-President in history will meets with the worst President in history. The results could be catastrophic, an explosion of bad domestic policy, bad foreign policy, bad economics and bad karma.

  • Oh, man, all that FAIL in one room. Wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall there.

I do so enjoy Carter's "Barry has to take his case to the American people" bit. Seems to me he already did that and got a horsewhipping for it. That, and anymore, there is so much fail attached to Barry anymore that the sure way for him to kill anything is to appear on tv to promote it. Of course, nobody ever could say that Carter could learn from his mistakes, either, so I suppose he wouldn't know failure, even when it shows up on the first Tuesday in November after people get a look at his plans.

Olympic bid? FIFA World cup bid? It's all fail. He can't even gin up a distraction from his stupidity.

    • "Oh, man, all that FAIL in one room."

It might be okay. I'm thinking from a mathematical viewpoint. When you have two negative factors you end up with a positive result. See what I'm saying?

Maybe they'll shake hands, sit down, look at each other, and - BAM! - they'll both realize how utterly and hopelessly bad they are.

      It could happen.

      • Thats only when you multiply two negatives. In this case, this fail would sum together to produce a higher absolute value of fail.

      • No JPT, the "two negatives" analogy, doesn't quite cut it. It would be like having a boil on your butt, and having the flu. Two negatives, making each other worse. I just wish that we didn't have to judge the race between the "two worstest Presidents of the US" with the economy on life support.
And I'm not really sure if Cah-Tah was the worstest. I wasn't around for Woody Wilson. I'm told he was also a progressive. And then, of course, there's always the "Raw Deal" and Teddy...
Are you seeing a common thread here? ALL Progressive/Liberals.
Look. IF America survives this crap. (At best even odds) I want us to promise each other we will be DAMNED sure to teach the next generation NOT to make such stupid mistakes. If this mean firing all the public school teachers, than let it be DONE.

      • You and Murphy are optimists.

The best we can hope for is for Obama to listen to Carter. He is the weathervane of fail -- if that man ever picks a position or a platform, your wisest course is to do the exact opposite.

Now, *that* could happen, since that particular political party has also kept Nancy in charge. After all, if everything you do fails, the best way to make said failure complete would be to double down.

        [sarc]It *couldn't be the voters that are pissed -- they're just ignorant.[/sarc]

  • “I think he’ll be a much more tough proponent of what he stands for in the future, giving up on Republicans’ support and taking his case to the American public.”

Uhhhh, didn't he already do this? Ending up with dems losing the House?? Jimmy Carter = irrelevent

  • what the H? Since *when* has Obama been bipartisan?
    ...wait someone already posted that.

I'll post this for double the points.

  • Carter - Gas rationing, lines 3 miles long.
Obummer - Health care rationing, lines to see an incompetent doctor 3 miles long.

    Yep, a lot in common.

      • Interestingly enough this is all in Isaiah. When I read it I couldn't believe it. I am paraphrasing and my Bible is not here... It mentions people creating problems for the populace, so they can be in control of them, but when all hell literally breaks loose people will be looking for leaders and they will be nowhere to be found, because they will not able to turn the tide. Amazing but it is true, even in ancient times human nature can be predicted all the way to our present times, where some humans vying for TOTAL control over large populations it ALWAYS ends bad. Always.

      • Create a problem (a shortage), create a bigger problem (rationing), and get control. Be seen as the go-to people when you need your whatever, go on the news, telling people how they have it good because of you. Pretty much liberal SOP ever since the early days of communism.

The problem is, thanks to idiots that believe in them, it works.

    • "Carter – Gas rationing, lines 3 miles long."

Gotta hand it to the libs...remember during said rationing when you could only go to the gas station on 'your day', based on the even or odd last digit of your license plate...

      Morons.
