Even a liberal stalwart like ABC’s Cokie Roberts isn’t buying Obama’s conflicting spin on his Ground Zero mosque comments. She’s not buying any of it.
On This Week, she said she believes President Obama “very clearly” endorsed the Ground Zero Mosque in his remarks at last week’s White House Ramadan Dinner. Then she called his clarification of those remarks “silly.”
“He’s already taken all the flak for having said it,” Roberts said. “It’s silly.”
That’s where Cokie is wrong. He hasn’t even begun to see the flak yet. And neither has his party.

Just to get back on topic --- another MSM personality criticising the ONE?
Sheesh, that's 3 blind hogs finding acorns within a month !! Could it be a trend?
PS - Isn't it ironic that the same folks who want every scrap of religious faith purged from our government (even though the constitution was based on Judeo Christian not muslim, budist, hindu, Shinto or athiest values) are scrambling over themselves to support a "Victory" (not "healing" not "reconciliation" not "peace" a friggin' "Victory" Mosque at the site of one of the worlds most horrific acts of terrorism perpetrated by muslim fanatics. There are none so blind as those who will not see.
So are you saying that the constitution doesn't apply to all religions?
Actually, this in NOT a 2nd amendment Constitutional issue at all, but rather a State issue per the 10th amendment. In no way is, or can be, Congress involved in this issue.
Congress has not and cannot establish a National religion nor has it passed any laws regarding a particular religious sect/practice.
Individual States, however, are free to establish a particular religion/sect and to prohibit the practice of a particular religion/sect. This did occur historically in the early post-revolution days of the US. Some states were Catholic, some Anglican, one or 2 Quaker etc. A Google search will give more info than can fit into an IHTM comment.
The name chosen, Cordoba House, is a direct reference to the Spanish city of Cordoba, the first European city conquered by muslims.
If it were intended to be a place of peace, good will and shared understanding it could have been named the Peace House, Unity House or similiar. To name it the Cordoba House is to deliberately label it as a victory monument over the US = giving the finger to the US people.
‘Nuff said?
Exactly the same people who get the vapors over a nativity scene on public property. That's not ironic, it's ridiculous.
Isn't there some shithole muslim country we can donate Imam Obama to?
Dude, when was the last time a Christian flew a bunch of fully loaded airplanes into skyscrapers full of people? Dude when was the last time a Christian strapped a pack of dynamite to themselves, walked into a busy marketplace and blew themselves and everyone around them up? Dude, when was the last time a Christian stoned a woman to death for adultry and let the man involved help with the stoning? Dude, when was the last time a Christian leader ordered his followers to kill muslims because they were muslims? Dude, if you can't see the difference between muslim extremism and Christian evangelism then you are a truly sick dude -- and as much a part of the problem as the Taliban.
Dude, every year doctors who perform abortions in the US are killed in the name of Christianity.
BZZZZZ Sorry Sam, wrong answer.
They're performed in the name of a woman's right to choose, which was found to be a right hinted at by a "shadow of a perumbra of an emanation" of the Constitution as discovered by a seriously loopy Supreme Court in the '70's.
"Dude, every year doctors who perform abortions in the US are killed in the name of Christianity."
I had to re-read this to make sure what I was seeing.
You must have made an error, Sam. I think the sentence was supposed to read: "Dude, every year doctors who perform abortions in the US kill 1,460,000 babies in the name of Liberalism."
Typical lib...going after the rare killing of abortionists, yet never acknowledging the 40 million babies that have been killed since 1973 and counting...
Way to go, champ.
Please post facts, stats and stories to validate your posting, because you are talking out of your behind. No abortion doctor has been killed in the name of (true) Christianity. Any of the murderers who MAY have claimed to have killed an abortion doctor in the name of Christianity was not a true Christian because the murder invalidates that profession immediately. Claiming christianity as a reason is a perversion of the faith. That person would be insane. Please post specific names of those murderers who specifically stated they killed in the name of Jesus Christ. Specifically stated they killed in the name of Jesus Christ. That person will be a loon, or a liar or else EXTREMELY ignorant of basic Christian tenets.
Just because a loon or a liar or an ignorant fool says that it doesn't make it that the religion of Christianity endorses the murders of abortionists as again basic tenets eliminates murder of any kind as an acceptable practice among those who TRULY are Christians and practice Christianity.
Difference being that in the Christian Bible (New Testament) there is nothing to indicate that any type of murder is okay, whereas in the Koran there are SPECIFIC tenets that do allow killings of people for various reasons. So a muslim murderer CAN point to the Koran to defend his/her actions.
Another difference is that ANYONE that kills an abortion doctor and the media tries to link him to Christianity the Christian churches and leaders IMMEDIATELY make it widely known that no such practice is allowed and such a person is not affiliated to Christianity. It is repudiated. Whereas when Muslims do acts of terrorism you have to squint to find the so called moderate Muslims who repudiate their actions.
So what do you think about the majority of Muslims who suggest that killing for their religion is a misreading of the Koran?
Majority of muslims? You mean the so call MODERATE muslims?
Don't you find it interesting that a religious group MUST identify themselves as MODERATE to begin with? What does that tell you? It tells me that somewhere in their religion there is ABSOLUTELY actions that could be considered in the contemporary world as extreme and instead of following the religion to the letter they avoid the extreme parts of it and follow a more moderate path.
With that said when the Koran specifically says things like the following it is very HARD to say that indeed the Koran has been misread or misinterpreted:
"Fighting is obligatory for you, much as you dislike it. But you may hate a thing although it is good for you, and love a thing although it is bad for you. God knows, but you know not" (2:216). So even if you don't want to fight against an infidel, you must because it is part of your faith and good for you... interesting. So you are compelled to fight infidels...
"Fight for the sake of God those that fight against you, but do not attack them first. God does not love the aggressors. Slay them wherever you find them. Drive them out of the places from which they drove you. Idolatry is worse than carnage. . . . [I]f they attack you put them to the sword. Thus shall the unbelievers be rewarded: but if they desist, God is forgiving and merciful. Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme. But if they desist, fight none except the evil-doers"(2:190–93). I think it speaks for itself. Any person who is not a Muslim is to be slayed, the act of being a non muslim is enough to be considered and actual attack against the faith. Muslims believe they were attacked merely by being in their midst. The very act of evangelization is considered an attack on the religion. A negative mention or a cartoon of Mohammed is considered an attack on the religion. It doesn't take much for someone else to be considered an aggressor and DESERVE to be punished.
Verse 9:123 - "Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you." Not very tolerant...
Abraham and Ishmael built the House and dedicated it, saying . . . "Lord, make us submissive to You; make of our descendants a nation that will submit to You..." Quran 2:127 Nevermind that Isaac was the promised son not Ishmael... just putting this to show the tweaking of it all.
I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers. Quran 8:12, Uhm... hard to misunderstand that.
"When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them." Quran 9:5
I can go on and on and on the story is the same it is hard to misunderstand the Koran it is very explicit HOWEVER many choose to ignore those parts and choose a more moderate part which is their right to do so and definetly better than those who chose to follow the religion to the letter like the so called extremists.
Uh, dude, that's happened 4 times in the last 17 years. Compared to 3,000 men women and children. In one day. At least do the math.
Dude, there are just as many extremist Christians as there are Muslims. Should we change the constitution to get rid of the freedom of religion just for Muslims?
You are making no sense. There AREN'T the same or as much extremist Christians (and what exactly is that?) around the world nor in just in this country as Muslims. Even if there are such people as extremist christians and again what is that? in the world or in this country I really doubt that the numbers would compare to the entirety of muslims...
did you miss a word or something? did you mean extremist muslims? because the way you put it ALL muslims are extremists, so I guess that makes you a islamophobe?
Next time please make sure to edit your posts because you are sounding a little stupid right now on that alone.
YES
The Victory Mosque is just the visible tip of a very large iceberg. Beneath the surface of Western societies, Muslims are waging a campaign of infiltration, subversion, sedition and social sabotage, with the objective of destroying our countries and way of life from within.
