The geniuses in Canada’s Liberal party thought they had Conservative Prime Minster Stephen Harper right where they wanted him. So they forced him to call for new Parliamentary elections in an attempt to oust him from office.
The election was held on Monday and the Liberal scheme worked about as well as most liberal schemes do.
Reuters has the story of today’s Liberal lamentations:
Canada’s Conservatives stormed to a decisive victory in Monday’s federal election, winning 54 percent of the seats in Parliament and securing a stable four-year term in power after vowing to focus on the economy.
The Conservatives grabbed 167 seats in Canada’s Parliament, well above the 155 they needed to transform their minority government into a majority, according to provisional results. They won about 40 percent of the vote, beating expectations.
The victory, a relief for Canadian financial markets, left support for the separatist Bloc Quebecois in tatters and the party’s leader without a seat. Bloc Quebecois advocates independence for the province of Quebec.
Things did not go as expected for the Liberals. Instead of winning the night, they now find themselves reduced to an embarrassing third place finish.
“What a great night. … Canadians can now turn the page on the uncertainties and the repeat elections of the past seven years and focus on building a great future,” Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper told a victory rally in Calgary, Alberta early on Tuesday morning.
American liberals are now shouting “Obama got Osama” and wishing our election could be held today.
We suspect they’d be in for a surprise almost as big as the one Canadian Liberals found.

Wait, wait, wait! Some liberal has GOT to be crying about broken voting machines, racist poll workers or some other sort of shenanigans that disenfranchised voters, 'cuz liberals don't ever lose elections, right????

Now that you have some, hopefully, intelligent people running things maybe they will tell the frogs in Quebec they get their wish. The real Canada can tell the Quebecois they can form their own country then print their own money since the Canadian dollar belongs to Canada.
Quebec would have to negotiate their own foreign trade relations with US, the United States, and every other country they wish to do business with, since they would no longer be part of Canada.
Border security would be another problem. Since Canadians are pretty much free to travel where they want, including coming down here to visit their southern friends, will Canada require a passport for Quebec citizens to travel in their former country? It sounds good to me. French citizens cannot come here without a passport so what makes the fools wanting to divide Canada any different?
Are you Canadian friends here getting my point? If the clowns wanting a "free" Quebec get what they want, they may not want it so badly and shut the hell up. Let them seperate, force them to stand on their own two feet, things will quiet down pretty quickly.

I've told you, it depends on where you go in Canada. Go visit Banff, & other parts of Alberta. It's kinda like Texas, conservative politics, oil production, beef production, but replace football with hockey.

Congratulations Canada!! As a frequent visitor I have watched that once great nation start swirling down the liberal toilet. I am overjoyed to see the tide reversed. I believe that the majority of Canadians are not liberals but too busy living their lives and working to get out to vote. They have seen how liberals can utterly destroy everything.and decided to put a stop to it. I hope we can likewise wake up the loyal Americans to out vote the looneys and the ballot box stuffers in 12.

Regain the Senate and the WH and throw the loonies on the Supreme's Bench under the bus! If we don't follow suit in 2012 you guys to the North may see a repeat in reverse of the draft dodgers of the 60's and early 70's, you'll experience a huge influx of once legal aliens abandoning the illegal aliens and the libturds! Yes, the two parties that forced this ridiculous election are now left in tatters: The BQ and the Liberals schemed with one another to force this election and are now almost destroyed. The Canadian voters have spoken and thank goodness we have a strong advocate for conservative fiscal policy as well as strong supporters of our military, the war on terror and Israel. I certainly hope you guys do the same in 2012.
