Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney ashamed of America’s first Afro-American president

If you’re anything like us (and for the sake of your own self respect, we hope you’re not), you’ve been wondering what’s become of Cynthia McKinney, the lunatic who once represented Georgia in Congress.

Well, she’s back. She’s now a member of the Green Party and recently took her lunacy international.

cynthia-mckinney
Hard to believe, but Cynthia McKinney sounds just as wacky as she looks

Iran’s FarsNews has the details:

Former member of the US House of Representatives Cynthia Anne McKinney said she is truly ashamed of her country’s policies.

Addressing an international conference dubbed ‘International Coalition against Terrorism for Fair Peace’ here in Tehran on Saturday, the former US House member urged Washington to avoid imposing its will on the world nations through the use of force, violence and weapons.

“As an American, I am upset with the policies of my country, but the measures adopted by the first Afro-American president of the United States has ashamed us all,” she said.

“If there is no truth, there won’t be any justice, and today the US policies are rooted in lies, injustice and war,” she continued.

But, Cynthia, Joe Biden said the guy was articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking. So we’re pretty sure all those policies you oppose were the work of his nefarious white half.

  • to dismiss anothers argument as lunacy is somewhat overboard and unkind to
intellectual pursuit.May I suggest we refrain from profrane haughtiness, rather
teach us with razor sharp ideas.Ideas packaged intelligently are very effective and pursuasive.

  • Hey Olivia, I lived in a socialist life style - IT DID NOT WORK ! I got out- actually the whole group of us got out.

You sound like that creature on Star Trek that just wanted "peace and coexistance" as the creature ate out the human from the inside.

It depends on what you mean by "socialist lifestyle." Do you mean you lived in a commune? A nuclear family setting? A social democracy? The Soviet Union? All of these arrangements could be considered "a socialist lifestyle" by the far right, in that they consist of each individual contributing what s/he reasonably can, for the benefit of the group as a whole. Yet they can vary hugely, in the way they're set up and what kinds of demands they make on the individual. And, yes, it's true that some arrangements are going to be less successful than others.

You'd still be hard pressed to come up with even one example of a nation today, that doesn't have at least a few social programs. In fact, I can't think of any at all. Can you?

Here's a question for this group at large: Other than the U.S., which modern nation comes closest to your ideal of a socialism-free society?

  • Um, this woman in this picture does not look like a former congress member of the great United States of America. Did she have as much respect for the office she held as she does her appearance?

    • You know, she probably spent a lot of money on eggbeaters to get her hair to look like that.

I have to say, the 'frog in a blender' look really jumps up and says something to me. It says "I have no clue. No clue at all."

  • What the heck is wrong with her hair? Georgia you say? Uhm... I wonder if she is related to Jameela?

  • Gee, I wonder who paid her air fare and hotel bill. Crazy Cynthia is reduced to political whoring for Iran's gang of criminal imans. The phony "Internation Coalition against Terrorism" is an Iranian front organization, something a communist like McKinney is familiar and comfortable with.

  • Interesting----not one of the comments here (so far) has addressed what McKinney said, or why. Just a bunch of (in some cases racist) personal insults aimed at the woman.
Nah, there's no racism on the right. Liberals are the "real" racists, for pointing it out, right? (This would be the cue for you to wax ecstatic about how much you LOVE and respect Herman Cain, Thomas Sowell, Alan Keyes, Condoleezza Rice, Mike Steele, Frances Rice and Clarence Thomas.....) :P

    • No racism here, I make fun of everyone that spews such stupidity out of their mouth with equality. I poke fun at all women who go out in public with their hair looking like something that just crawled out of a Georgia swamp. With equal fervor of course.

The only thing I find interesting about McKinney, or this story, is the fact that she is in Iran and not wearing a burka, babooska, rag, a sheet on her head. If she was we could call her what she is, a sheethead. With all due respect, of course.

You know Olivia, you shouldn't talk so such smack about yourself! BTW, if you despise us so much, why don't you just leave and go infest some other website?

          • infestation is a good word Hisham, good word.

            **************************
I don't doubt that you admire it. Referring to selected people as vermin and infestations was a favorite tactic of the Nazis. And heaven forbid a far righter should be forced to endure hearing an opinion or perspective varying from The Approved Point Of View, right?

          • *YAWN* I was having a fabulous day and now I am bored thanks for making me miss Mickey, he has a weird voice but he is at least entertaining.

          • You know, I never cared for Cynthia McKinney, Maxine Watters, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Allan Grayson, David Obey, & any number of Progressives that make me wanna puke. I don't like them because they are abusive socialists, pure & simple. Race, gender, religion, or sexual preference does'nt mean crap to me, & most on this site. Maybe if the race card was'nt the 1st thing thrown out in almost every political dispute by people like Olivia, maybe, just maybe, there could actually be civil political discourse. That is also why I have become more coarsened over the years, & I'm so desensitized that it no longer bothers me.

Your comment above says absolutely nothing. Basically, you did a lot of generic name calling, and then complained about people like me challenging a few other posters on their bigotry.

I'm still waiting for someone here to criticize Cynthia McKinney in a serious way, rather than just parroting the usual empty-headed juvenile insults. It's pretty amusing, actually---there are certainly legitimate criticisms that could be made about her, but apparently no one here wants to talk or act like a grown-up.

"Abusive socialists"----could you possibly get any more whiny and melodramatic? :D

          • Try harder. For a socialist/liberal/progressive like you telling anyone to grow up is a joke. Socialism is welfare, food stamps, EBT cards, housing subsidies, heating subsidies, & too many other programs to mention here. All of which promote perpetual adolesence that you see in the recipient class. It's not unlike giving someone a fish & teaching that person how to fish. Those who support & promote socialism/liberalism/progressivism are about giving the fish, not learning how to fish.

Also, socialism is abusive by design. It is so good, it has to be manditory. Obama-care is an example, it will be manditory, & you won't have a choice. That's because socialism is for the people, not the socialist. Want proof? Look at all of the exemptions being handed out, many of them to those who promoted the passage of Obama-care. Like the SEIU, plus the plans to hire 16,000 IRS agents to enforce Obama-care. I don't see the doctors, & we will see doctors flee the system, but it will be worth it to have more trying to access less. But hey, don't take my word for it, history is full of the failures & abuses by those who hate freedom & promote socialism.

Except that none of your above accusation has much to do with what liberals are actually pushing for. (HINT: Rush Limbaugh is NOT qualified to explain our values and priorities to you. As incredible as it might sound to you, he always gets it wrong.) ;)

First, did anyone clue you in that welfare was reformed almost 16 years ago? So far, I've yet to run across even one far righter who still isn't complaining about it as if it were an open-ended perpetual benefit for anyone who wants it. THey are absolutely in error.

Second, I don't know of a single liberal (including myself) who WANTS to see people dependent on the government. (Including corporations, by the way.) Look at the kinds of things I push for: affordable health care. Affordable and reliable public transportation. Good schools. Those are tools for success, not your standard "free stuff" that you far righters keep accusing us of wanting to spread around.

100 years ago, it might have been enough to have energy, eagerness and a can-do attitude. Those things won't cut it today, though----not unless they come with a quality education, good robust health, and an understanding of how to negotiate today's work world. The far right seems to think that people can magically acquire these things, just by being shamed and scolded. It's not happening.

Well, first of all, social programs exist under all types of government and economy, and have nothing to do with "hat(ing) freedom."
Second, there is no successful industrialized nation today that doesn't have some social programs. We have fewer than most----and, not surprisingly, we also have a higher percentage of babies being born into poverty than most.
Third, I always get a kick out of the argument "But socialized medicine means we won't have enough doctors!" These are, by and large, the same people who argue that we don't NEED affordable health care for everyone, because most uninsured people are uninsured by choice. But now they claim that, if these people got insurance, they'd tie up all the doctors and we'd have a shortage? Get your stories straight, will you? :D

Tell you what: if we don't have enough doctors, we'll create them. Or we'll get more nurse practitioners. No matter how you try to spin it, ongoing health management is ALWAYS far cheaper than damage control. And our current system, of relegating tens of millions of uninsured patients to ER care, makes about as much sense as it would for a public school to send all the kids home in private limousines, to avoid having to use school buses.

          • Read the damn constitution, it clearly states that there 18 enumerated powers that the federal gov't is to do. It is clear that the feds do a million other things they have no constituional power to do, you know, things to be left to the states, as stated in the 10th Amemdment. I will add that the feds do almost nothing they are supposed to do very well because they are trying to do everything else it's not supposed to do, & they don't do those things well either. Obama himself understands that the US Constitution limits what the feds can do...

...his gripe is that it does'nt say what the feds must do for you. The clip is a decade old, but he was raised by socialist/progressive/marxist types, & he is still one today. He is wrong because it does, 18 things to be exact, but he, like all leftists, wants everyone to rely on gov't for their existance. So, when you get used to having a gigantic, oversized, & underperforming gov't, you'll just get used to it. The tea party was born out of this, & the people who pay the bills will cut the gov't down to size, & hopefully, close to it's actual constitutional responsibility.

            ********************
Wrong. The Constitution is a framework for our government, not a handbook of rules and regulations. The genius of those who created it is in its flexibility: it was NOT intended to be rigid, or to disallow every function that wasn't enumerated.
            ********************

            ******************
No, it isn't "clear." There are some limits to the federal government's powers listed there, but nowhere is it stated or implied that, if a specific function doesn't exist, it's unconstitutional. If you don't understand that basic fact, then you don't understand the Constitution, period.

Wrong again. THe problem with the far right is that they've been programmed to compare government services with similar services in the private sector, and that's a bogus comparison. Why? Because the private sector can and does focus on the slice of the market that they want----the one that carries the most potential profit, with the least amount of trouble. But this creates gross inequities---and I'm not talking about an inequity in wealth; I'm talking about inequities in rights and opportunities. The kind of inequities that exist in third world countries like Somalia, where the strong devour the weak, and, too often, justice and rights are a fairy tale.

Nonsense. That's a ridiculous lie that's been fed to you by the far right wing propaganda mill. Obama is no more "marxist" (do you people even know what that means, other than the fact that it's meant to be an insult?) than many other political leaders----the leaders who created the government policies that have been there for YOU all your life.

Another silly lie from the right wing propaganda mill. NO liberal wants "everyone to rely on gov't for their existance" (sic). We merely want to see everyone have a fighting chance, in this highly complex and competitive society. When ALL Americans have a decent opportunity at prosperity, it helps us ALL.

You mean those people who go around growling, "Keep your socialist hands off of my Medicare"? I think they need to READ the Constitution first, for nowhere does it say that government MUST stick to all (and only) late eighteenth-century conventions, as you seem to have been led to believe.

    • I'm not a racist, I dislike her because she is a brain dead lunatic.
What did she say that warranted a serious comment?
Sane people knew before zero got in what he was, she is racist for voting for him just because he is mulatto.
Who in the hell goes to Iran to spread her manure about peace? Maybe a touch of Lara Logan would jar her synapses back to functioning, if indeed they ever did.

Why, I don't know. But the writer of this blurb seemed to think she warranted a lot of comments, since this story led today. Why don't you ask him?
        *********************
Sane people knew before zero got in what he was, she is racist for voting for him just because he is mulatto.

        No, "sane people" know that:

        1) it's racist to make generalizations about an entire race (assuming the only reason they supported Obama was his race), excepting only those who voted as you did.

        2) the term "mulatto" is archaic, and has been out of general use (except for racists and people living in a time warp) for generations. There's a reason for that.

        3) referring to the president of the United States as "zero" (carefully leaving it uncapitalized) is a childish and silly way to criticize him.

        4) it was this writer, not Cynthia McKinney, who (what's that term you far righters love to use?) "played the race card"----note his final sentence.

And you bought right into it, didn't you?

  • She's right where she needs to be. Over there with another total wack job.

Now if someone could either joe-kennedy or ted-kennedy her.

  • Are hair brushes now banned on flights to Tehran?

Being loony does not mean you have to look looney. Or does it?

    • Her hairdo always looks like she walked right into a massive elephant fart. Maybe that explains the wild eyes as well.

    • Didn't I see someone that looked like her on Sheriff Joe's website?

Wild crazy eyes, wild crazy hair, looked like she'd smoked about a pound of pot, then flew to Tehran to curse terrorists without using an airplane?

      • I do believe you are right but it was a crack whore instead of a pot head in the picture.
