Is that a camera lens in your pocket? Dan Rather crew strip searched by Israeli security

Dan Rather is upset that Israeli security forces treated his TV crew like Bill Clinton treats interns. The disgraced newsman’s production team was strip searched by security before being allowed to film an interview with an Israeli cabinet minister.

What's the big deal? Dan Rather's been dropping his pants for liberals for years.

The Associated Press reports the naked truth:

Andrew Glazer, an Emmy-award winning producer at Dan Rather Reports, wrote that the legendary anchorman came to do a story about improving Israeli-Palestinian relations pitched by Israel’s Foreign Ministry.

Glazer said problems mounted after they arrived. He said they were held up for hours at security checks. Israeli soldiers barred the crew’s veteran Palestinian cameramen — a Jerusalem resident — from accompanying Rather to a West Bank neighborhood.

And then came the a strip search before an interview with Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor.

“Mr. Rather said that in his career, he had never seen a crew forced to strip prior to an interview — including the one he conducted with Saddam Hussein,” Glazer wrote.

This word just in: Barney Frank has announced that he is resigning his position in Congress and applying for a job with Israeli security.

    • It would certainly be in their best interest to give the same treatment to any American "journalist" male or female.

  • So even Saddam Hussein didn't treat Dan so badly, but then Saddam recognized an ally when he saw one...just like the Israelis recognize a hostile party when they see one.

Still, the thought of a naked Dan Rather is disturbing.

  • He tried to use forged documents to bring down Bush. If there is one thing that the Israelis must depend on it is that 'You can never be too careful'.

    • He's proven himself to not be a trustworthy person. I would want him stripsearched before he came near me, too. I just don't want to have to be the one doing the searching.
