Slashing funding for tin horn dictators and Islamic wackos seems like a no-brainer, but somehow you just know that liberals will object to this suggestion from the President’s debt commission.

Cutting “voluntary” funding from the United Nations would trim $300 million off the federal deficit by 2015, according to a draft report from the president’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform.
“According to the Office of Management and Budget, the United States provided over $6.3 billion in taxpayer funds to the United Nations in FY2009. Less than half ($2.7 billion) of that total went to ‘assessed’ dues — payments that the United States is charged for being a member and for its share of peacekeeping operations around the world,” the draft report says.
“The United States is by far the largest donor to the United Nations in terms of assessed dues,” the draft continued. “However, the United States gives the United Nations more than $3.5 billion in ‘voluntary’ funds each year. This option allows the United States to remain a member in good standing of the United Nations by contributing the full dues that will be assessed, but reduces voluntary payments by 10 percent, which will save $300 million per year.”
How about if we cut the “voluntary” payments completely and save the full $3.5 billion? According to our preliminary calculations, that idea is about ten times better than the Debt Commission’s recomendation.

Do not give them ANY money, get them the heck out of the US on their own dime, and sell the building (and everything else that belonged to the UN) to Trump or whomever and then give each citizens along with a serious slash on taxes an extra bump in tax returns. *sighs* I can only dream.
What a completely effing useless organization. They play the US like a piano. The slimeballs in Washington are beyond corrupt if they agree to giving the UN 10 effing cents.
RockingHorseGuy has the right idea, and make sure the TSA gives all of the useless U.N. bureaucrats the enhanced pat down on their way out of the country.
Cut out 100% of the voluntary funding, and also 100% of the funding they think is mandatory. Get out of the organization, get them out of the U.S., and see how long they hold together. Let them have their high and might meetings in a hut in Kenya.
$300 million over 5 years? Geez, don't spend it all in once place uncle sam!
Seriously, why bother? If we aren't going to do anything to address the trillions of unfunded and unaccounted liabilities for SS, medicare and Obamacare (still TBD) why do anything? Our financial system will collapse without addressing the elephants in the room.

Sounds like we are giving them our lunch money, so we don't get beat up.
The thing is that we do get beat up. It is disgusting that countries like Iran get to be on the groups and clubs talking about how they deplore human right violations while in their own countries their own people suffer a great deal at the hands of their govts. It is pathetic. Save the money and get rid of the idiots I say.
