Is it just us or are Democrats are beginning to sound like Baghdad Bob?

More and more Democrats are coming out publicly to express their confidence in retaining control of the House in the November midterms.

The latest to join the chorus – despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary – is House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who, with good reason, is seldom allowed to speak in public.

Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Hoyer repeatedly insisted, “We’re going to hold the House” and “We don’t have any weak candidates.”

Let us just say three words: Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf?

You may remember al-Sahaf (aka Baghdad Bob), Saddam Hussein’s Information Minister. During the early days of the Iraq War, he became famous for saying things like “They’re not even within 100 miles of Baghdad. They are not in any place. They hold no place in Iraq. This is an illusion … they are trying to sell to the others an illusion.” This as American tanks rolled by in the background.

No one could ignore the facts like Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf. Until now, that is.

  • To Saddam's credit, he only had one Baggdad Bob. The current Obama administration apparently has hundred of them.

  • Future Quotes: "We are 100% ahead in all polls. It is a landslide victory! They will not be allowed at their swearing in ceremonies!"

    • Baghdad Bob Gibbs: "The tea party crowds are nowhere near Washington...this is silly."
Just as the camera pans out to show over a million people between the capitol steps and the Washington monument.

  • Want to see Baghdad Bob? Turn to Bret Baier on Fox and watch Juan Williams. This is a man I used to like and respect a lot, before Obama was elected. After the election he drifted off into his own fantasy land where Obama is wonderful and was trapped there.

    • Question: would Juan Williams 'My Goo'ness they don't like him...' be so fawning and hinting that if anyone disagrees with the policies you must just be racist, if say the president was Hilary?

    • Juan Williams.. his standard response to just about anything these days is, "well the Republicans are the party of No."

  • So whats new? The Democratic Party has been a bunch Bagdad Bobs since election day. As the economy sank and they spent us into bankruptcy all they did was kept saying how good things were and the liberal media continued to report it day after day. The Bagdad Democrats not will but already have destroyed this country. We will never recover from the massive debt they have placed on us. I am sorry to say that bad times are ahead...very bad times. The sad thing is they will be thrown out and the Republicans will be blamed because hey will be in control when the shit hits the fan.
God have mercy on our nation.
