Democrats won’t admit they’ve been endorsed by Obama

President Obama’s endorsement is a lot like herpes. A lot of Democrats have it, but none of them want to admit it.

Politico.com has the story of the rapidly spreading Presidential virus:

Late last week, President Barack Obama endorsed dozens of House Democratic incumbents and candidates across the political map. The news was easy to miss, however, because so few of them sought to publicize their presidential seal of approval…

Some went so far as to make clear that they didn’t seek the endorsement.

“We haven’t put it on the website or in press releases,” said Wil Brown, campaign manager for House Budget Committee Chairman John Spratt, who occupies a conservative-oriented South Carolina district. “I doubt we’ll use it in the campaign.”

Lindsay Fritchman, spokeswoman for Democrat Manan Trivedi, who is running for a suburban-Philadelphia-based district where Obama won 58 percent of the vote, said the campaign had determined it would not actively highlight the endorsement and that, “We think the president’s word is very powerful on its own.”

“Who me? Endorsed by Obama? Obama who? I’m not really familiar with that name.”

  • The NRA has been drinking straight Potomac River water for so long it's addled their brains. The NRA spouts off about being a single issue organization when you question them on endorsements but they need to see the bigger picture. Putting pro-gun Dems back in the House means a vote for Speaker Pelosi (F-rated). Putting Dems back in the Senate means votes for anti-gun Supreme Court justices. I've bristled in the past over their Dem endorsements but this year I got tired of them shooting themselves in the foot with my money.

    • I quit NRA a few years ago for 1)endorsing crappy candidates, and 2)CONSTANTLY hitting me up for money with scare tactic letters. I am still on their mailing/calling list. When they phone me, I remind them I am no longer a member and hang up. When they send me junk mail with a Business Reply Envelope and some hoaky poll, I just write some pithy comment with a thick Sharpie pen and end with telling them to pound sand. I let them pay the postage. Wayne LaPierre has had his position WAY too long and needs to find another line of work, kind of like these politicians we are trying to make unemployed.

If you want to belong to a REAL 2nd Amend. rights group, join Gun Owners of America.

  • Speaking of endorsements, here in South Dakota the NRA endorsed Democrat Stephanie Herseth over a pro-gun Republican, Kristi Noem. I just got done canceling my NRA membership. I've had it with the NRA endorsing Democrats.

    • You know, these groups' leadership is a prime target for being corrupted. AMA, NRA, AARP, NEA, NAACP. I read the "way of the wiseguy", and apparently that tactic is SOP for criminal groups. Cultivate the leaders, corrupt the leaders, then profit. All's I can say is you don't get any more corrupt than leaders of the AMA and AARP endorsing legislation that clearly leads to the poor health and economic devastation of seniors. "Hippocratic oath?! What's that?"

Everybody repeat after me: "Obama lies so Grandma dies."

If any movement to establish sanity in american politics ignores these now front groups for socialism, then we're fighting a losing battle. You cannot defeat the systemic infestation of democracy with socialism without addressing them. Looks like another good place to apply a little alternative media exposure. Turn 'em out, show them for what they are! Don't just resign.

    • The NRA did that?!?! Incredible. How frikkin stupid. I was a member for decades but when I realized I had 50 pounds of mail a year from them asking for more money I just dumped em. They are getting a bit full of it. They could save a load of cash if they would let you opt out of mailings and actually not send them out.
