This is one that seems to have slipped by the media and the pundits. They were so busy analyzing the “1967 borders” comment Obama’s latest Middle East speech that no one caught this brief sentence.
“As for security, every state has the right to self-defense, and Israel must be able to defend itself – by itself – against any threat.”
First he says Israel has to return to indefensible borders. Then he says it has to defend itself by itself. As in solo. Without its staunch America allies.
Hmmmmm.

I dont want to sound egotistical but do you actually believe that he is abandoning Israel, if so then you are deluded. From what I gather he is legitamising funding for Israel, US is a big supporter of Israel as well as the UK, France etc. Obama is saying they should be able to defend themselves so thus allowing them possibly to have nuclear weapons, superior technology and military power. If anything Palestine needs the support as the war crimes Israel commits on a daily basis is despicable.
However of course Palestine doesnt conform to americas dictatorship and wasn't created by America because no one wanted to house them (JEWS). You only have to look at history to see how Jews have been kicked out of every country.

Well then....what's good for the goose is good for the gander. By Obummer's logic then, the US should be able to defend itself by itself. So explain why we need the help of other countries (i.e. foreign bases) to defend ourselves and why we are part of (mostly all of) NATO? Sounds like we are depending on relations with other countries to defend ourselves and also as NATO provide help to other countries (apparently except Isreal) yet Isreal should be able to defend itself. Pretty hypocritical. Maybe Isreal should consider Obummer a threat.
I have figured out Obummer's foreign policy....it is to visit as many countries as possible on the taxpayers dime so that he can build love and admiration by claiming every country has something relative to his roots.
It isn't the United States job to protect Israel.Let Israel fight it's own wars.
Haven't they really fought their own wars and won each time? US if anything is a philosophical and financial backer, with the understanding that if WWIII comes along we will side with Israel, or else if another Hitler comes around we will side with Israel. The Israelite Army is bad ass and they can take good care of themselves. The point of the alliance is really when situation gets out of control or it becomes multiple countries against one.

The US economy and manufacture, much like the eurozone, have been utterly gutted, even if the budget of the US military, homeland security and highways where cut down to zero, there would still be a deficie.
It isn´t just governement debt and trade deficie, which have been negative since 1976, most states and municipalities are going broke.
Obama´s policies aren´t effectively destroying the US as anything else than a failed and highly unstable third-world country, they are mererly accelerating this destruction.
Thus, the question is moot, in a few years time, the US won´t be able to give nor receive any handouts anymore, it just won´t be technically possible. Willing or not, Obama´s won´t be able to give out even change.
As harsh as it may be, any country or individual that that relies on that sore known as Washington to live willingly threw themselves uppon th bus path a long time ago.
If there was any lingering doubt about Obama's resolve to throw Israel under the proverbial bus, it issues forth from the snake pit he calls his mouth for all to hear. If you still have doubts about this usurper in the White House, then you're just in denial.

The Bible is very clear on enemies of Israel, I think our country will pull itself out of its current bind if we remain allies. However if our "Christian" president turns his back on Israel, we wont get out of this crisis and things will get worse.
