In an administration that’s already exceeded its quota of boobs and dunces, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar stands out as for his complete ineptitude. His explanation of why the Obama administration opposes drilling for oil in the Arctic not only defies logic, but very nearly defies comprehension.
CNSNews.com has the story of Salazar’s shortsightedness:
CNSNews.com asked Salazar, “Given the rising cost of gasoline why is the administration opposed to drilling in the arctic refuge?”
“We don’t believe that you need to drill everywhere and we don’t believe that the ‘drill, baby, drill’ program is the way that’s going to get us to the energy independence that we need for America or that will power our economy and that’s why the President has been so clear from day one and we in the Department of Interior have been so clear that what we need to do is need to have a robust energy program that includes a number of different sources of energy and while yes, we are pushing forward with oil and gas development both offshore and onshore which was the subject of much of the hearing today, we’re also moving forward with renewable energy,” he told CNSNews.com after testifying before the House Natural Resources Committee about his Department’s FY2012 budget.
Windmills. Solar power. Fairydust. The more unproven, the better. The more workable, the better. The more government subsidies required, the better.
Anything but oil.

The King of Washington should be branded an "oilman" just like Bush was when oil prices went out of control. But, don't expect to get any real reply from your elected officials in Washington when you write them. When I do get an answer it's just a form letter bragging themselves up about issues not even remotely addressed in my letter. What a bunch if misguided idiots. Dill, drill, drill put Americans to work producing American oil. We need to be a strong America without apology.
So... drilling from our own soil, will not give us the necessary amount of oil for our energy needs? How does he know this? Has he measured the amounts available already? Is he G-d? What is going on? How do they know this? The best way to know is to go looking for it. Can you imagine if no one went looking for oil in Arabia? The Arabs would still be a middle age county. Why exactly they can drill and we can't? Like someone well said, Barry just doesn't want to break up the oil cartel that pays him so well. Disgusting.
Too bad cars don't run on stupid. Our greatest energy reserve would be the White House.
Yep, all it would take is a big dome built over D.C. and we could power most of Virginia with geo-thermal energy. The hot air increase during elections would help power part of Maryland as well.
The Bakkan field in North Dakota, ANWR, the Gulf of Mexico, the Pacific coast, the largest known shale oil fields in the world, we have it all and cannot use the resorces because of goobernment idiots trying to turn us into another third world country. And just like in all third world countries, you can bet the "elite" will not have to do without, only us unwashed masses.
