Recently poor little billionaire Mark Zuckerberg has been the target of more than a little derision and just about as much criticism. Now some of this avarice is, no doubt, the result of jealousy. After all nobody likes the fact that the geek they regularly pantsed back in middle school can now buy and sell them.
But an awful lot of it is legitimate.
The laundry list of Facebook problems, however, has just been shortened. Those looking to remove their data from the cyber behemoth – a task sometimes impossible in the past – have been provided with a rather novel solution. Just be critical of the President.

Facebook said Friday it mistakenly removed a post in which Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer criticized a controversial policy decision by President Barack Obama’s administration to limit deportations of illegal immigrants.
Mistakenly? Yeah, right.
The Republican governor had said in a post Friday that Facebook censored the item she posted Thursday because it apparently violated Facebook’s community standards.
Brewer didn’t elaborate in her post, but she said Friday in an interview that an email she received from Facebook said the post was removed because of an included illustration.
The email, which she read aloud, didn’t specify how the illustration violated standards.
“I’d like to know why it happens,” she said of the removal.
Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes responded to a query by The Associated Press by saying in a brief email that Brewer’s post was removed in error and that Facebook was sorry.

I post direct from here all the time, and get some updates from the site on my page, too. FB has a lot of inconsistencies.
I don't know about Google but I truly think Zuckerberg has been in Obama's pocket ever since the Egyptian uprising. I can't recall the source but read Obama and Zuckerberg had a secret meeting. Don't know what about, but it was around the time all the talk was going around about a KILL switch. I figured it had something to do with that.
Haven't any of you read about the government wanting to get heavily involved in social networking sites? It was part of the DARPA project if my memory serves me. They were creating a software tool to discover and track people and their posts about government officials, etc.. All of which would be gathered and forwarded to government intelligence agencies in realtime. Very scary...
I've heard before -dunno if it was here- about FB pulling down conservative/anti-Sock Puppet posts. That's actually the only reason I went back to using it - jus' speakin' truth to power. Some of these stories are about the only thing I put up any more, along with Herman Cain & Allen West pieces, a few other things. I don't track it close enough to figure out if anything is actually getting pulled, but it seems like only 1 IHTM post stays up at once.
Could be wrong.

It has got to be tougher for Obungles these days, the number of people riding his leg must slow him down, a lot. I guess Zuckerberg wants to climb higher up the leg so he can be closer to dear leader.
Maybe that's why he needs all those vacations. to get the little urchins off his leg.

Sorry, Facebook. The genie is out of the bottle. You may have removed Gov. Brewer's remarks, but you're going to have to work overtime to remove all of the posts where other Facebook users shared the story.
FWIW I post links to this page and others critical of BHO and have never had a problem.
I post on FaceBook, but the Arizona governor story makes me wonder if my stuff actually remains on FaceBook after I've posted it. How would I know? I don't go back and check later to see... because I hate the place. Can't quite see the point of it.
Maybe Justin Timberlake is a conservative, so when he rejuvinates MySpace we'll have our own social network site...
Well, J.P., I know that my posts to this page and my other anti-Obama, anti-liberal posts stay up, because people comment on them, and I am notified of the comments. I don't do it a lot, though. So maybe I'm flying under the radar.

I post these pages, and my own personal comments against Obama on a regular basis, without a problem. I also post many pictures of a persona nature, and am smart enough to NOT post anything that would be detrimental to my business. So FB, although not perfect by any means, has done wonderful things for my entertainment and photography businesses.
I, too, post links to this forum and widely criticize the moron in office and every other idiot politician weekly, no problems. They don't know me, but her... everyone knows. Could be the reason.
