Fatty foods addictive as cocaine in growing body of science

Fatty foods addictive as cocaine in growing body of science. Now that the politicians have nationalized health care, they need a lot more money to pay for the bureaucratic boondoggle they’ve spawned. Gee, if “science” can make the case fat and sugar are bad for “the public health” then folks will accept the gubbermint taxing the crap out of the stuff. It’s “justified” because “we” are paying for the junk-food addicts’ “health care”, you see. This needs to be kicked to the curb before it becomes another “global warming” con.

  • "In one 2010 study, scientists at Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida, fed rats an array of fatty and sugary products including Hormel Foods Corp. (HRL) bacon, Sara Lee Corp. (SLE) pound cake, The Cheesecake Factory Inc. (CAKE) cheesecake and Pillsbury Co. Creamy Supreme cake frosting. "

Hey doc, when are human research studies gonna start? Just curious.....

    • Just go ahead and try to ignore those chili dogs. They're talking to you, aren't they? You can't stop. You're hooked. Is there a 12-step program for chili dogs?

      • I broke my chili dog habit. I replaced them with 1/3 lb black angus burgers with bacon and cheddar already inside them! Get them at Aldi's grocery store and grill them at home, YUMMMMM! Even better with swiss cheese on top!
Then there is the double mushroom swiss with bacon burger from Checkers!

  • ' “The data is so overwhelming the field has to accept it,” said Nora Volkow...'

Yup, the ol' consensus is in, alright.

  • PORK FAT RULES!!! I'm an addict and proud of it!

There is nothing better than a half pound of cubed salt pork cooked in a pot of pinto beans. Navy beans and ham is to die for. Bacon fried up crisp, crumbled over a bowl of fresh spinach then the bacon fat drizzled over it as a dressing is yummy.

A dripping, juicy burger or a well marbled, 1 inch ribeye hot off the grill can't be beat by any tofu, soya based, tasteless piece of crap that comes out of the microwave or oven. I'm a fat addict and proud of it.

I have never been over weight, never had a cholesterol problem, never had any health problems. Beef, beans, potatoes and pork fat. Easy on the veggies and bread, too much of either is not good for you. A fair ration of beer every evening. The whiskeyriver diet for good health.

    • LALALALALLA I can't HEAR you! LOL! I have no prob with the pork fat, but I DO beleive that lots of veggeis are good-not just corn, potatoes and peas, but lower carb veggies as well. Whole grain breads just taste better to me, and a little milk (or cheese0I KNOW you like that) wouldn't hurt!

Then I strongly recommend to science that it stop stuffing fatty foods into its body.

  • I remember "Dateline" doing a story a few years ago about a woman who was suing McDonald's saying they addicted her to their food. Even the liberal NBC reporter basically asked: Why don't you just not go so much to McDonald's?
The McVictim lost her suit. I know from personal experience that sugary soft drinks can kinda get their hooks in you but with some willpower and patience bad habits can be kicked. I think there's a problem with instant gratification with many people today.

    • One wonders what it is that makes fat accumulate between the ears of people like Al Gore.
