Too good to be true: Final Gallop Generic Congressional Ballot shows GOP up by 15

We’re not religious, but we’re praying that Gallup is right.

The latest Gallup Poll is a real eye opener for Nancy Pelosi. Or maybe it's just her latest nip and tuck.

The results are from Gallup’s Oct. 28-31 survey of 1,539 likely voters. It finds 52% to 55% of likely voters preferring the Republican candidate and 40% to 42% for the Democratic candidate on the national generic ballot — depending on turnout assumptions. Gallup’s analysis of several indicators of voter turnout from the weekend poll suggests turnout will be slightly higher than in recent years, at 45%. This would give the Republicans a 55% to 40% lead on the generic ballot, with 5% undecided…

Fact is, Gallup has a long track record of calling congressional races closer than any other polling group. So let’s assume they’re correct this year, too.

If that’s the case, what’s your prediction? How many seats will Republicans pick up?

  • In reference to Ms. soon-to-be-Ex-Speaker of the House Pelosi: whoever becomes the new Speaker should make sure she doesn't steal the Speakers gavel and also get the BIG "we finally passed Obama-care" gavel from her. Just in the spirit of fairness of course.

  • Well we will indeed have a bunch of bitter lame ducks to deal with. And they will have a hatred of the US as we wee it. BUT our folks MUST do well quickly.

  • I would like to see Gallop as correct. But, the newly elected won't be in until Feb next year. (I would like to see an ammendment to change that) So between Nov 2 and Feb 2011 there will be a lot of bull-change happening down there in D.C.
As a citizen my concern will be a pendulum swing and corruption of the new-bees in congress. My prayer is for help from the Father of Jesus.
