First openly gay Episcopal bishop plans to get a divorce. So that didn’t work out, for anybody. The Episcopal Church was driven into acrimony and division, with membership plummeting, all so this guy could make a point about gay marriage. Now, six years later, he says, “Never mind.”

couldn't help it...
Don't think Rod is sexy and don't think the Bishop is sexy.
Many church denominations rushed to changed their doctrines to accommodate gays who want to actively be gay while at the same time attend church services and be considered Christians, and it has been happening for decades now and the Episcopalians were at the vanguard of that. It is shameful. I can understand trying to open doors to gays who want to be a true Christian person but with that comes responsible behavior.
Yes I am sure you can be a Christian (a follower of Christ) and have a sexual inclination towards people of your own gender. I cannot even imagine how difficult that life must be, however, everyone has their own cross to bear. This is not me saying it but homosexuality [as in the behavior] (and etcs) are not okay with G-d. They aren't. What can I say to you that doesn't sound harsh? It is the truth.
Changing doctrines and laws and ways of the Word in order to satisfy the human world is sacrilege and disgusting. People will have to re-examine their stances in the denominations that are standing by these things.
And you have summarized the racism in the Episcopal church. We want to welcome even sinners. But at what point do . We decide it's not a sin, and that traditional acts of the Church are wrong. We believe that their is a 3 legged stool to use when evaluating beliefs, New information attitudes, etc. 1) Is it Biblical? 2) is it in line with centuries of church teaching? 3) Using your own intelligence and reason, does it may e sense? The feeling is if you have 2 out of 3 that agree, you are probably ok. But with homosexuality we have 2 of 3 agreeing this is NOT appropriate. Is . Is a challenge, since none of us follow all the 700+ rules in . The Bible. Which should we ignore? Which should we follow? Not a group for non thinkers. There is no black and white, right or wrong. This is in varying shades of grey.
Holy Holers, Butman .
The bishop is a nihilist. He blows up his church's doctrine in the names of vanity and hubris and then leaves nothing as a result.
Thank you. As an Episcopalian, I hve we had serious issues with this guy. He went against church canons for his own selfish purposes, and out drove me car zz y when t hey bBraum's elected him Bishop. Not because he is gay, per e, but because we do not (theoretically) confined sex outside of marriage. He broke his vows as a priest, a Bishop and a Christian. And I have never heard any remorse, only comments about what HE wanted, what HE needed. Don't even get me started. He is so selfish, I am not surprised he is getting a divorce!
It's a shame how one jackass can destroy an entire religious sect that has been in existence for hundreds of years.
Now, is there a way we can do this for the Muslims?
An imam who decided to have a homosexual marriage? He wouldn't last ten minutes. They'd stone him in the mosque courtyard.
"Everybody must get stoned".
I beg to differ. He left a big effing mess.
I'm speaking of church doctrine and the reason for its existence. Without law, whether it is secular or religious, everything is permissible and there is no judgment but I see your point too.
Sounds like the LBGT crowd is a rather promiscuous bunch, must of caught his husband cheating.
Episcopalians, the only Christian sect in which an atheist can aspire to an archbishopric.
