We’re confused and we don’t mind admitting it. Here we thought Genghis Khan was a very bad man who raped and pillaged and cut of limbs and blew up bodies. We thought he was the most evil man in history. For god’s sake, man, that’s why John Kerry compared U.S. troops in Vietnam to the Mongol madman, isn’t it?
But now all is forgiven because the it turns out ol’ Genghis was actually an environmentalist who saved the planet.

Mother Nature Network explains the new, kinder, gentler Genghis:
Genghis Khan’s Mongol invasion in the 13th and 14th centuries was so vast that it may have been the first instance in history of a single culture causing man-made climate change, according to new research out of the Carnegie Institution’s Department of Global Ecology, reports Mongabay.com.
Unlike modern day climate change, however, the Mongol invasion actually cooled the planet, effectively scrubbing around 700 million tons of carbon from the atmosphere.
So how exactly did Genghis Khan, one of history’s cruelest conquerors, earn such a glowing environmental report card? The reality may be a bit difficult for today’s environmentalists to stomach, but Khan did it the same way he built his empire — with a high body count.
Over the course of the century and a half run of the Mongol Empire, about 22 percent of the world’s total land area had been conquered and an estimated 40 million people were slaughtered by the horse-driven, bow-wielding hordes. Depopulation over such a large swathe of land meant that countless numbers of cultivated fields eventually returned to forests.
In other words, one effect of Genghis Khan’s unrelenting invasion was widespread reforestation, and the re-growth of those forests meant that more carbon could be absorbed from the atmosphere.
Based on this theory, Hitler was just an environmentalist. Stalin, too. And that Mao, he was a damn saint.
Looks like John Wayne was right. Genghis Khan was a lover, not a fighter.

wait....this begs the question, how many people has Al Gore killed? I mean he's pretty much the messiah to environmentalists. he has to have at least a body count of 1 million.
Al hasn't killed anyone as far as I know which means that according to environmentalists he is a punk a** b****. Straight up... I mean right? Bush saved a million or more African lives so he must be a monster... YET according to liberals he is directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq and Afghanistan hence he is both a monster and a savior of the Earth as per the environmentalists. Wow what a dilemna...
That's the problem with liberals KQ, they never see how foolish they sound. Is he a criminal because he tried to help save millions of lives thereby destroying the environment? Or is he a criminal because he got us involved in a war where hundreds of thousands have died, meaning he is helping the environment?
The funny thing, or is it sad?, is that it's the liberal eco-freaks who are saying "Dubya" was a terrible President for doing both things at the same time. Read his book then think about it. Like IHTM points out at the top of the page, "If we didn't laugh, we would cry".
That is why I say that liberals are insane in serious need of medication and counseling.
Under the Obummercare plan it would cost to much for counseling so I think medicating them into silence is the best choice for us taxpayers. It seems to be working on all the folks who "work" at MSNBC since they have no viewers.
Don't look now, but this has been the agenda of the extreme greenies for a long time. They want to go back to about the 1700-1800's with less population, no industry, home grown foods, no electricity, no safe water, etc.
That's right people, save the planet, start a global campaign of mass murder. I guess the Islamic Extremist Fundamentalists have been on to something all along. We just weren't smart enough to recognize the actual humanitarians that they are...
Okay so.....
okay... so basically if I get this straight as long as the Planet is being "saved" from the ravages of human civilization... it is all good to end human lives.
So they are attributing goodness to his evil actions... that is so disgusting. I am quite ... quite sure that if ANY environmental "pluses" they were all unintentional on his part and everyone like him. I find this disgusting they devalue human life over dirt and plants? How can they live with themselves?
Sounds like the perfect pretext to bring back the good ole days of Eugenics via democide ... YOU BETCHA! OoraH! USA!!!!
DEMOCIDE: http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/MURDER.HTM
The hordes should have killed the guy that cast this movie. Casting the Duke as Ghengis Khan is criminal and worthy of the sword.
I'll agree with you on that!! But the Duke was broke at the time, he had just found out that his "business manager" was a damn thief and he needed all the work he could get. It worked out ok though, John Wayne will always have a place on my wall.
I used to be friends with the daughter of one of his doubles. When I saw her dad's picture on the wall I said "oh is your Mom a fan of John Wayne's" and she said "no that is my dad, he was John Wayne's double" i was like whaaattt?! It. was. freaky. Usually you dont see an actual double that looks like a congenital twin of the actor. That is my John Wayne story! :-)
Someday I'll tell you the story of my buddy's hilarious interaction with the Duke. But I'm just not in a Duke frame of mind tonight.
The hordes might have gotten their revenge after all. A great number of persons associated with this film died from radiation induced cancer. Apparently filming was done in the area of some nuke testing.
So, I guess in a way this makes abortion "green." Why not? It follows the same methodology, long term systematic death, 40 million dead and it falls right in line with the rest of their brain damaged ideas.
Hold on biker 21, abortion may make sense in the long run. Looking at the crime in our country, looking at the kooks running other countries, looking at some of the fools that keep getting re-elected in this country, looking at all the welfare patients who breed for more handouts, I would say that in certain cases abortion should not only be a choice, it should be mandatory.
Eco-Wacks newest battle cry can be: "Fire up the ovens at Auschwitz! We've got a job to do!"
Depopulation might have a chance at working if they can't get standing armies and police forces behind them, but I suppose 100,000,000 registered American gun owners might have a thing or twelve to say about it.
ovens make CO2, ruben
Yes, but the eco-freaks driving around in their Subarus don't think of that. All they care about it their agenda, not what is smart or good for the planet.
Wow, this is a conundrum...invading sovereign nations is good, as long as we kill everybody, and allow nature to reclaim the land...but invading a sovereign nation for regime change and oil larceny is bad, because Ghengis (Jen'gis) was a war-mongering tyrant who did not steal oil and Bush was a war-mongering Rethuglican tyrant (sorry for the redundancy).
Whew, good thing we can apply climate change to historical events. It really puts this stuff in perspective for me, hell, global warming in the Ukraine must have just stopped cold when the people there just died rather than eating and passing gas. I nominate Stalin as the greatest environmental steward ever, until ALGORE.
OoraH! Mac! ***Salute*** (Semper Fi from my buddy)
... And now the greatest environmentalist of all time ... drum roll, please ...
SATAN!
... YOU BETCHA!
Move over Che Guevara, the tards have a new T-shirt hero.
For a bunch of flower sniffing hippies who preach love and hope they sure love those mass murders...
But they don't want us to have guns??
Don't ban guns, ban liberals from owning guns-
I will say this, at least Genghis khan was'nt a pussy like Che was. Che was snuffed out when he finally entered actual combat. He was a bully & a murderous thug who thrived on tourturing & killing the defenseless. He was Castro's buttboy, & he died as the cowardly punk he was. Khan was a true warrior & 1 of the greatest horseman to ever walk the earth. Was Khan grusome? Yep, but I at least have some respect for the man as a military leader, & as a ruler, despite how ruthless he was at times. The man was feared & respected in way very few ever are. The fact we are still talking about about Khan, who died in 1227, is a testiment to his legacy, good, bad, or ugly.
You have a point. Most mass-murderers are total pussies who hide behind their troops and commit suicide when they start to lose. At least Genghis was a real man.
