Germany drawing up plans for Greece to leave the euro. The endgame approacheth. Some observers predict it will be an anticlimax, suggesting Greece has been de facto bankrupt for quite some time. Others believe it will be the start of another Lehman moment for the global financial system. Either way, it’s gonna suck to live in Greece for quite a while.

Well one thing about socialism that I can say is that the results are ALWAYS consistent. It is the foolish people that do not believe it that are the main problem.
Too bad the socialists inhabiting the District of Corruption don't seem paying attention to the Greek implosion. But then he who does not learn from history is condemned to repeat it.

I guess the failure of Socialism again is simply due to the wrong people being in charge of it again. If it is only tried a few thousand more times, someone will get it right. Trust me on this.
There are news stories of well-dressed citizens of Greece eating out of garbage bins. I fully believe we are witnessing the decent of a 1st world nation into that of a third world nation.
Sorry to have to correct your impression of Greece StrinaM but Greece was never, in our life times, a first world nation..second world maybe. I lived there for several years and even in the 80's Greece was unable to sustain it's own economy without massive infusions of cash...US cash! Now that they're even further down the 'yellow brick' road of Socialism, withdrawal may prove fatal. Greece will look for cash elsewhere rather than face a painful withdrawal. I'm thinking they'll fly to the arms of their new 'bestest' buddy the PRC...but that's just me.

Don't we ever get paid back for all the money we sent to other countries when they needed help? NO! We are the rich uncle that just keeps throwing good money after bad, and breaking ourselves in the process.

And, just like with the rich uncle, the "kids" never learn anything, because they never have to suffer the consequences of their actions. The rich uncle always bailing out the "kids" doesn't really do them any good.
