The old joke said lawyers swimming in the ocean needn’t worry about sharks because the predators never attack one of their own. Besides killing retirements and jobs, today’s Hope It Changes economy is retiring lots of old jokes and not just the old jokes in Congress.

… two class-action suits were filed by graduates of New York Law School … and Thomas M. Cooley Law School … amid growing scrutiny over whether law schools across the country are deliberately concealing the truth about their graduates’ employment and salary in order to enroll more students despite their dismal job prospects.
Suggestion: Michelle said she and Barack shunned lucrative corporate jobs in favor of community service. Considering all the free travel, housing, vacations, and all the food she can eat, you’d have to say the community serves them pretty well.
Among the tactics allegedly employed by the schools were misclassifying graduates with temporary or part-time jobs as “fully” employed, omitting information about graduates who didn’t respond to employment surveys, and creating post-graduate job programs to hire their own graduates.
The Stimulus and Obamacare, both designed by lawyers, were also surrounded by phony claims. Must be part of the curriculum.
“The law school industry today is much like a game of three-card monte, with law schools flipping over ace after ace, while a phalanx of non-suspecting players wager mostly borrowed money based on asymmetrical information on a game few of them can win,” according to the New York lawsuit.
Both sides better have good lawyers. It sounds like they can use the work.

Everyone talks about ObamAA+ & his birth certificate, but we never talk about Michelle's comment about him turning down Wall Street gigs. I believe that is pure BS. Let's see the EEOC reports of when companies actually interviewed a young ObamAA+, or Sotoro, or whatever his name was back then. My guess it's more likely 1 can find a herd of unicorns grazing in a field full of amaranth. In other words, it probably never happened.
Yeah, I had read some comments a couple of years ago about how unusual it was for an editor of the Harvard Law Review, as BO was, to NOT have big time law firms come knocking on his door. But it seemed there wasn't much interest in him. Interesting that he was praised continuously but when it came to putting up some money to hire him, the firms conveniently took a pass. Talk is cheap but these firms aren't stupid... they know an empty suit when they see one.
Maybe they were working on some high-security cases, and need to have attorneys that were born in this country? Or maybe they looked at his lack of writings in the journal? Or the people he hung out with? I wouldn't have hired him to walk my dog.
Here in Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin medical school has replaced its laboratory rats with lawyers. The University decided that there were so many lawyers no one would miss a few thousand and and there are some things even a rat won't do.
We should declare a worldwide emergency, put all the lawyers on a ship and fire them into space to go and populate another world.

This is a classic 'win-win' situation for the rest of us.
It is hard to pick a side, so just sit back and eat some popcorn and watch the carnage begin.
It appears that we have finally reached the saturation point for lawyers in this country. Maybe we should start shipping those jobs, and the people that fill them, to other countries. Let them have the "benefit" of unabated legal growth! I'm sure third world countries could use a few hundred thousand personal injury lawyers. "My fee will be 2 chickens Mr Gjhguyfgo".
Law schools are carrying on like the rest of the Colleges and Universities - blowing sunshine about how great credentialism is for kids - but that's probably not going to last much longer once Obambi finishes off the economy.
It makes sense. A twisted sort of sense, at least. Colleges and universities love fuzzy-headed liberal thinking. So, they use the same tactics Obama uses.
To bring up an old joke--- Its a shame that 90% of them , just ruin it for the rest.
