Democrat Congressman and former NFL quarterback Heath Shuler says that he may run against Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House.
Uhhh, Heath, pal, we hate to be the bearers of bad news, but that won’t be an issue unless you switch to the Republican party very soon.

Conservative Democratic Rep. Heath Shuler (N.C.) said Wednesday he might run for Speaker if a “viable alternative” to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) does not emerge.
“If there is no viable alternative [to Pelosi], I will be running for Speaker of the House,” Shuler said during a debate with his Republican foe Jeff Miller on WWNC Radio, the Ashville Citizen-Times reported.
The statement from the second-term congressman, a former college football star who played as a pro with the NFL’s Washington Redskins, is another sign of Pelosi’s unpopularity among centrist and conservative Democrats, many of whom are facing tough reelection contests…
Throughout the campaign, Miller has attempted to tie Shuler to Pelosi, saying he votes with her a vast majority of the time.
Shuler’s comment sparked a testy exchange between the candidates.
“You’re saying you would not vote for Nancy Pelosi for speaker?” Miller said.
“If that’s the alternative, I will be voting for myself,” Shuler replied.
Opponents used to say that Gerald Ford had played too much football without a helmet. It would seem like a fair comment for Miller to make, too.

Just more proof that the Democrats can't run away fast enough from Ms Pelosi. I feel sorry the laborers who work for her back in California. They are going to have her around a lot more after November 2nd.
Actually, anybody can run for Speaker. Not only somebody from the other party, but somebody off the street can run because there is no constitutional requirement that you be elected to congress first. Who knew?
(I learned this from listening to Rush Limbaugh last week. A caller was trying to convince Rush to run.)

But I daresay you voted for Pelosi as Speaker before, correct? Twice if I'm not mistaken ('06 and '08). Your story is BS and reminds me too much of John F'ing Kerry. You voted for her before you decide now that you'll vote against her. Good luck with that campaign among your fellow Donks to replace her as Speaker.
