EDITORIAL: One law for us, another for you California’s legislative hypocrisy a failure of democracy

• The California legislators and the Governor all think they are some kind of Gods and we should worship them.....They are the largest collection of assholes and perverts outside of D.C....in normal times many would either be in jail or in a mental institution, but they have also learned the "free shit shuffle" to buy votes and get their constituents to liberality kiss their ass..

• Their deeds are effectively an admission that they KNOW the gun laws suck and will not accomplish what they were sold to... and they knew this all along. This leaves me to come to my own conclusions about what these laws are really about- in light of the quick press that so-called incidents of "gun violence" (I LOATHE buzz words) get and the news and political narrative that is calculated to lull people into a critical non-thinking trance rendering them less capable of seeing past the facade that government gives the slightest damn for them.

  If gun control were such an idea wouldn't the legislators be the first to turn theirs in? They aren't turning in any of their weapons but they are hell bent on getting us to turn in ours and agree to new laws that increasingly prevent us from being able to arm and protect ourselves. They are exempting themselves from every piece of garbage legislation that they are shoving up our asses. What's more is the fact that they are ramming things through even when the majority clearly disapproves of what they are doing.

  Here in Connecticut our governor and legislators are facing a lawsuit filed by gun rights advocates that rightly calls our new gun control law as a violation of our second amendment. It will be interesting to see the legal contortions the establishment will go through to preserve the law while pretending to respect the constitution and pay sanctimonious lip service to the notion that we have rights and are a free people since the time is not yet right to just come out and say that the Constitution has been done away with.

• I took a cycling trip in CA way back in 89. I went from Tahoe to Fresno through Yosemite. Along the way I met and talked with people.

  Now I don't claim this to be a scientific, statistical sampling. I know that in the places I was, I am much more likely to meet people of particular persuasions - i.e., enviros and low info voters.

  One key expression that struck me - when someone here in the east says "what do you do?" the answer you give without a thought is "I am an office manager", or teacher, or "I sell insurance" etc.

  In CA, when someone asks that question, what they mean is what do you do for recreation in your free time. So the answers they are looking for is "I go rock climbing" or "I surf", etc.

  There are far too many people there who really can't be bothered with all that mundane and sometimes ugly reality that is politics. If you start talkig sense to them, they will eventually agree, but politely ask you to stop, b/c it upsets them.

  So they would rather imagine that everything is just peach-keen, and everyone can be made happy, and all the tofu-chicken in every pot and a unicorn in every yard can be paid for from the money tree.

• Once again the so called Lawmakers in California have proven Orwell correct.

• California is now basically Chicago only with fewer dead voters.

  • Out here we have Zombie voters.

• Whenever I hear of the goings on in Sacramento I just cringe and close my eyes and try to think happy thoughts. These toadies are the main reason I left the state in the first place. They have way too many ultra liberal progressives and way too many low information voters keeping them in power. Kalifornia is a sad echo of its former glory. I miss my home but I'll never go back until the political climate takes a serious turn to starboard!
