A Dallas HOA has ordered a disabled Vietnam vet to remove seven Marine Corps decals from his car, including the Marine emblem and Semper Fi slogans.
“To me, it’s being patriotic, and it shows that I served,” Frank Larison said.
The board says the decals are ads and violate HOA rules and must be covered or removed. If he doesn’t comply, the HOA says it will tow the car at Larimore’s expense and fine him $50 for any future incident.
Larison seems to have a lot of allies in the neighborhood.
“That is his identity,” Mary Castagna piped in. “He goes to a lot of the veteran meetings, and it means a lot to him. Everyone else agrees with it; it doesn’t bother anybody.”
“He’s in the Marines, and he’s proud of it, and I don’t blame him,” neighbor Paul Hardy commented. “If I’d gone through what he’s gone through, I’d be kind of proud of it myself.”
The complaint was delivered in a letter. Probably because the HOA board was afraid to say something this stupid to a former Marine in person.

It is quite possible this all comes down to one fool. One fool that hates the Marine for some ridiculous and petty reason and wanted to do something to hurt him. It is almost always like that, one fool or one ridiculous minor group of fools looking to hurt another human being in order to feel like they have accomplished something with their lives. Pathetic.
solution is to read the fine print before buying a home in any HOA community.
Or don't buy one with a HOA at all, since the commie bastards can change rules at will.
This is just one more ridiculous attempts to demean our military. Hanoi Jane Fonda and Obama should be proud that they have emboldened idiots to fall out of the woodwork. The Marine should be left alone but I bet there is another reason for their actions ,like a personnel argument between the Jarhead ( I'm a vet and have earned the right to respectively call one of my Brothers that) and the HOA prez. Looks like the Hoa president is a jerk. I have other names for him, but I don't think they would allow me to print them here. I hope they leave the vet alone.
I'm sure there's no chance that the angry anti-military bumper sticker nazi is also the owner of the car shown in the video with an Obama sticker on its bumper.

How can the HOA have any say over what your car looks like, as long as it's not on blocks on your front lawn? And in Texas no less! Bunch of busybodies trying to justify their miserable little fiefdom.
Of course, if the car had said "No one died when Clinton lied" or "Coexist" or some such claptrap, no one would have cared.
A guy's getting hassled for displaying patriotic emblems on his car? In Texas? You're $hittin' me, right? Texas? Unreal! It's time to gather up all the rope in Texas and find a big oak tree and hang all of them HOA weenies for all the people to see, so to speak.

I'm feeling good about how people are not standing still for some of this crap any more and are fighting back. From this vet, to the hospital employee who had to take down her flag to the bible group in San Diego getting harassed. In each of these situations, the people have gotten behind them and screamed bloody murder. Gives me hope.
As a former Marine, the only advice I can give the HOA board is… beware. The Marines are very loyal to each other. If they find out he's in trouble, the HOA won't know what hit them.
