How Obama intends to cut healthcare premiums by 3000%: More regulations

It was just a few weeks ago that the President proudly announced that ObamaCare could cut medical premiums by a mathematically-impossible 3000%.

Well, mathematically-impossible or not, they’re going to give it a try by giving state regulators new, broader powers to reject premium increases they don’t like.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

When President Obama signed his health-care reform last month, he declared it will “lower costs for families and for businesses and for the federal government.”

So why, barely a month later, are Democrats scrambling to pass a new bill that would impose price controls on insurance?

In now-they-tell-us hearings on Tuesday, the Senate health committee debated a bill that would give states the power to reject premium increases that state regulators determine are “unreasonable.” The White House proposed this just before the final Obama-Care scramble, but it couldn’t be included because it violated the procedural rules that Democrats abused to pass the bill.

Looks like Nancy Pelosi was right – they had to pass the bill to find out what was in it.

And the more we find out, the less we like it.

  • Bush was a brain surgen , compared to this clown . I wished he would go back to one of the fifty seven states , from where he came from

  • Obama 'misspoke'... Funny! No spit (or I could just write no s*it) he misspoke: The man is a soulless puppet who cannot even get the simple act of speaking done correctly. That and of course Barry is hailed as a masterful orator and a superb public speaker with mesmerizing abilities to convey messages to the masses.

    Options for White House spokesperson:
    A) Tell the public what they know: The POTUS is a f*cking moron and does not understand beans about what he speaks publicly on.
    B) Say he misspoke.

Barry does not know the material he claims to. Like his "Profit to Earning Ratio" blunder when he, master of finance, was taking about that. That was just one gaffe out of about 150,000 so far. This was just another.

It will be his last gaffe ever though. Oh, wait... I misspoke on that. There will be more to come.

More reason that he has to go back to sticking to his teleprompter. He can't seem to get it right either way.

Lower premiums? GREAT! Jack up the co-pay, higher deductibles, increased time to see doctor and get treatment, and all this while you still are forced (by law) to keep in this system and keep paying this 'lowered' premium. Also, who cares if it is lowered.

Many don't have insurance by choice and now they have to buy in. From 'pay nothing' to now being made to pay (even at the new 3000% less or $3000 off rate- whatever lie is made up to fit the message) is still MORE MONEY LOST FROM A MAN'S POCKET!

That is a 3000% improvement! Oh, I misspoke about that improvement thing...

  • White House spokesperson later said the President misspoke. He had meant to say that your employer, on average, could see as much as a $3000 drop in annual premiums.

  • Why isn't this clip being played 24/7 by the MSM? The country would be so much happier just thinking about the windfall we are all about to get!

  • Obama is awesome. My health insurance company sends us $11,600 every month now thanks to that three thousand percent decrease in price. We're thinking of getting secondary insurance to make some extra cash.
