How whorish did Miley Cyrus act at the MTV Video Music Awards? Answer: look at the faces of the Will Smith family (especially the two kids) or ponder the fact that she made Lady Gaga look like Mother Theresa.

      • It seems that he is. Went on Piers Morgan to defend her behavior. I find him detestable and lost all respect for him.

    • Gross! Clearly someone told her that "being adult" and "sophisticated" meant behaving worse than a whore. I have known whores who wouldn't wear outfits like this, as it would cut down on payng customers. Why pay when its all right there?

      • They aren't even attractive outfits. Just weird and depraved. And the tongue flapping around like an elephant's trunk makes me think I'm seeing something from Dante's Inferno.

    • It's a shame. She could easily be a very nice looking young lady. But her attitude whenever there's a camera in the vicinity is rather disgusting. I've turned down offers to work with models just because I didn't think it would be a pleasant experience, or that the model's attitude would keep me from producing anything nice to look at.

I'm sure Mr. Richardson considers himself to be a professional photographer, but that particular shoot didn't do anything for his reputation.

      • What's up with young girls sticking their tongues way out like that? Is that supposed to be sexy?

And did you notice the photographer in the reflection? He's a Woody Allen look-alike which makes the whole thing even creepier.

        • Funny you should say that. I see a LOT of photographers who look like the contests where you have to pick out who is the pedophiile, rapist, etc. And I have noticed that in general , an awful lot of photographs, whethe in ads, TV show, photoshoots, etc, havethe camera wandering down to the butt or the crotchof the person being photographed, whether male or female. Hmmmmm.

  • The only part I don't understand is where Sinead keep referring to Miley's "obvious talent."

    • LOL Okay Miley can sing and she can perform, however her stuff is not necessarily original and she felt she needed to do something dramatic and overly sexual in order to stand out but then again that has been done ad nauseum by many other women and men and many that have truly much more talent than her.

I think that Miley should have been a comedienne. She does have comedic timing and she can act. I think that her insistence in being the music industry was a bad move.

      • Actually, I am beginning to think Miley knows precisely what she is doing. The more this plays out, the sharper she looks. I know people won't see it just yet, but in hindsight, most people will look back on this & see how this all worked. Not a fan, by any means, but I see she is way smarter then I thought when this all started going down.

    • Professional flattery to soften the "keep your clothes on you stupid bitch" parts of the letter?

        • Because you KNOW Miley is just shallow enough to feed on that phony flattery. It amazes me the people that are convinced they have talent.

          • Never urinate off a gazillionaire, they don't care if they drop a million on legal fees and lose, just to make a point.

          • What?! For what? Oh wait, she lives in the UK where you can sue for slander or libel for just about anything and the burden of proof is reversed so the defendant has to prove they're innocent.

          • Miley went off on her and called her crazy and so on which considering Sinead's past it is true but she claims not to be crazy now so Sinead is suing... :-/ or plans to sue if there is no apology don't know yet.

    • Then Miley on Twitter says that O'Connor is crazy due to her past mental illness... then feminist came into the mix here: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/oct/03/sinead-oconnor-miley-cyrus

      *sighs*

It was a well crafted letter that could have done just fine without the offensive language and perhaps it should have been sent personally and directly to Miley and not put her on blast, however again the letter was well crafted and it hit on many good points. Miley should have at least respected her opinion and not go on an insulting rampage after all Sinead did not insult her personally just told her to beware of what she is doing.

    • Never really cared much for Sinead O'Conner, but I must say, that letter pretty much nailed it.

        • When I was divorcing the mother of my two daughters (a long bitter conflict complicated by her substance abuse), she told me that song made her think of me every time it played. I was like, "Whatever." Thing is, I'm possibly the most musically ignorant person who ever lived. Even when I like a song on the radio I have no idea who is singing or what the name of the song is. So I had no idea my estranged wife was trying to tell me something. Years later I listened to the lyrics and realized I probably missed a chance to save her and my marriage.

Women. Why can't they just come out and say what's on their minds?

          • " I’m possibly the most musically ignorant person who ever lived."

            you poor soul.

women, ya can't live with 'em, ya can't take 'em out to the desert and let the coyotes eat 'em.

          • do you know how far i'd have to travel to get to a desert? Now, the Great Lakes on the other hand...

          • My Mother does that. I always pray that I will not be this insane. I am a woman, but I do agree that sometimes this feminine desire for people to read women's mind is insane. If I want or need something I talk about it, I say it, I ask. I cannot assume people can read my mind, in fact it irks me when people try to do that, because 99.9% of the cases they are wrong about my real thoughts and intentions. "I can't read your mind Mom, if you want something you have to say it. And please don't be passive aggressive and resort to the 'Well your brother (or whatever) does this or that without me telling him or her' bit because that is first not truthful and that is manipulative and I don't respond well to that."

The response I get is that I don't understand her and that I should be appreciative of the fact that she gave birth to me and all kind of bullcrap. I mean seriously? I will have to tell my husband if/when I have one that if I start acting like a crazy b*tch he needs to talk to me and remind me that I don't want to be that crazy b*tch. I love my Mom, but sometimes she acts like a crazy b*tch. Again I do love and respect my Mother very much, but i am just being truthful. I am not disrespecting her out of hatred, just out of truth. I know that sounds harsh but it is true. Sometimes she calls me and my stomach gets tight and I feel like running to the other direction. It is indeed a delusion and that happens to me all the time. No matter what I tell her it is always the same. I am expected to know what she wants and if she doesn't get it then there is something wrong with me... :-/

Can't read people's mind man, just can't do it. I ain't the Lord G-d. People just need to calm the hell down with that.

          • I ain't getting involved I got my own crazy female to deal with LOL And is worst too is not like I can divorce or break up with my Mom.

          • Yeah a woman calls her out of nowhere and starts talking to her about telling her husband what she needs instead of insisting of him reading her mind :-/ No way she will think it came from him lol

          • In all truth he would probably be between a rock and a hard place. Having someone else enter the situation may not be palatable to her so I advice Poppa that you remain calm, patient and persistence in telling her to talk to you and tell you what you want :-)

          • Flash that is terrible! However am gonna be real... that was not your fault which I am sure you know. I mean seriously, if she was a crazy person and you didn't want to go down that road, you had the right to get rid of her. The fact that she resorted to something so overly dramatic and final that is all on her. All she had to do was get help.

          • *sighs* I know, I can understand. As Rose hinted above sometimes you have to train yourself to recognize "the signs". However that won't work all the time. Just keep at it. I know that even after I am married with children of my own, her desire for control of my time and movements won't necessarily end, if anything it may increase. Sometimes we are given crosses to bear and we just have to get stronger backs.

          • Oh shit! FLash, you are right though. Crazy people want you to be crazy with them and are incensed when you refuse to play. This was a more awful reaction than most, but the "if you leave me I'll kill myself" is a common threat. Only a percentage actualy do it. At the risk of sounding heartless, you dodged a huge bullet with that one!

          • After a couple of years of telling my ex-fiance that we needed to put the sarcasm and hatefulness aside and actually have conversations, I finally couldn't stand it any more, and told her to pack up her stuff. I just couldn't take any more arguing.

            She shot herself.

You never know what reaction you'll get when you insist on sanity.

          • 16 years of telling her that I can't read her mind hasn't made an impression, I doubt one more time will make a difference.

          • Women unknowingly destroy many relationships and cause themselves a lot of unneccesary pain over this. I don't believe in fairy tales anymore.

          • In my Mother's case (can't say all women's cases), I believe that she equates being loved with someone just knowing by instinct on what she needs and anticipates her needs.

I have known or heard of good servants (staff members, waiters/waitresses) anticipating their employers'/etc need. I understand that is possible, however there is an incentive there: they are getting paid and there is no or very little emotional attachment there. Now there are people (spouses --- mostly women to be truthful here ---) that may be able to do so (anticipate the needs of their spouse, boyfriend, etc.) and they aim to please so they anticipate and read people's minds... good for them if that is what they want to be. I am not hating. Many Mothers are able to do this perhaps and perhaps expect their children/husbands/boyfriends/fiancees to be able to do the same for them in return and in gratitude for all that the women do for them and crap. However if they are going to do something for someone they shouldn't expect the same to come their way, not everyone is the same (something I tell her constantly).

I am just not that way and I know that MANY (if not most) men are not that way. Why force people to be something they aren't? Especially when I tell her I am not that way and I am not going to change so chill out with the drama. I respond to her love and many people do and should respond to other's love, by being who they are, doing other things or encourage conversation so she gets exactly what she wants so I won't disappoint her by given her something she didn't want.

Sometimes I surprise her and push her to do new things and that is MY way of showing MY love for her. She doesn't necessarily like surprises but she always ends up loving what we end up doing. I don't expect her to change and out of a sudden become a person that surprises me with fun stuff or with new stuff that she thinks I may enjoy. I don't want her to do something she is not capable of doing because it is not in her nature. She shouldn't expect the same from me and no women/men should.

Sorry but yeah I feel strongly about that, it drives me up the wall. Like you said it can cause a lot of damage that is completely unnecessary.

          • Anticipating that I would want an Iced te waiting when I arrive home, or that I like gardenias is one thing. Mind reading emotions, etc is simply undoable. You'll notice the one thing that employees DO learn is to recognize the storm clouds and get far, far away before it all hits. If you want me to do something for you, ask. Don't hint around that you really need "soeone" to do this or that for or with you, tryng to guilt me into volunteering. It won't happen, and I'll just be pissed off that you tried to manipulate me.

          • For real. If your love for gardenias is widely known, putting them in your room or living room for you to enjoy is not that big of a deal to do. It may make you feel good which is the point, but it is not something that necessarily takes a lot of mental/emotional power. If I notice that almost every time you get home you make yourself an ice tea, if I want to be nice and make it for you before you get home so all you have to do is serve it, again doesn't take a lot of mental/emotional power.

So certainly, as you say, having all these complex emotional/physical/spiritual needs and then expecting someone to figure it out, or be passive aggressive and talk in the third person about the needs is essentially crap. I can't deal with that. Many a times I've gone to words with my Mom about that and in the end she still doesn't get what she wants. All she had to do is say something and completely save herself (and myself) the drama.

          • I've always been more the I-expect-you'll-be-wanting-some-iced-tea-so-make-me-some-too-while-you're-at-it kind of guy.

  • I get that most of us are a good deal older than MTV's target audience, but I remember growing up in the mid to late 80's, and the female artists I loved being controversial. But I can't imagine Lita Ford, Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, Vixen, Phanton Blue, Lee Aaron, Girlschool, or Madam X carrying on that way. Yes, they had "tough" personas, and dressed somewhat immodestly and sone of their songs were a little raunchy, but they were beautiful and not trashy, and most of all musically talented and their craftmanship and talent spoke for itself. And the thing is, there are females today who could be great role models. Yes, Pink cusses a lot, and Kittie (think a female Pantera), but if I had a young daughter, I'd much rather her look up to them than the "hos" that rule the radio these days.

    • As a fan of women in rock who do more then sexually service the band or shake their tits & ass in videos, gotta say, the most aggressive band in terms of profane lyrics with a woman fronting is Sister Sin. They are from Gothenburg, Sweden, & this is "Fight Song"...

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP7vRAr79N0

      ...& the lyrics...

F**k you! F**k them and f**k the world too.
Do I look like some bitch to you?!
Ill bet a blackened eye that you'll remember my name.
Well shorty step back and get out of my face and my way!
You turn my hard heart cold, stealing what we got and call it "Rock and Roll".
I'll bet our 2 counts an hour and all the hurt In the world that you all will burn.

      This Is the Fight Song.
Don't point your finger at me!
Pray for that God forgives. I Dont!
This Is the Fight Song no matter who or where your from.
Pray that God forgives... I Dont!

Listen You make this bad blood rise.Hand me some rope
'cause I'll be hanging around hearing blacktounge bitchen'
for hours on end. C'mon give it a break and drop f**king...!
Now lets keep it honest In here I don't know you so you
sure don't know me. So keep my name out of your mouth
and we can keep it the same just like the doctor said.

      This Is the Fight Song.
Don't point your finger at me!
Pray for that God forgives. I Dont!
This Is the Fight Song no matter who or where your from.
Pray that God forgives... I Dont!

...now I LOOOOOOOVE these guys. Seen them open for Doro on Valentine's Night 2013 in St.Paul, MN. At the barrier from a few feet away, & they blew me away. BTW, their singer Liv Jagrell is this tiny thing, & it is amazing how powerful she is vocally. Insanely good live act. Sort of what Motley Crue would be if they had a singer. Met her & the drummer after the gig & they were very nice. Cannot wait to see them again. Also, I love the old school violence scenes in the video.

    • Oh wow! I had such a crush on Lita Ford, Joan Jett and Pat Benetar.
I actually saw Joan and Pat in the same summer in a showcase club in Asbury Park NJ right before their debut albums hit.

    • Oh man, what a list and a stroll down memory lane. If I plug just one of those names in YouTube my mornings work is screwed. You reminded me of something i think I still have, somewhere.

Couple of 8x10 bw pics taken with a 35mm back in the day when they still let you take cameras to concerts and the floor was festival standing, from a Pat Benatar concert here in Dayton at Hara Arena. Had to be late 70s, 80.

They're in an album I swear the cat tried to eat. Don't have a scanner, have to take a pic of a pic, but I have to look sometime today now, just to see if I still have them and look at them again. Think there's one of Dale Walton's Second Wind in there too, another blast from the past.

  • This is exactly the kind of crap Hollywierd has and continues to promote. Miley is doing exactly what some coked out A&I / Producer is telling her to do. Since she sucks as a performer, and song writer, it's time to sing other people's songs and go for the shock value. That butt ugly douchebag Cher pioneered this kind of garbage.

    • Am I the only one noticing the VMA debacle is a perfect example of corporate greed and not a peep out of.......nope, not going to say it.

      • The unemployed hemmorrhoid?

BTW, I think I will trademark that name for him, it fits perfectly!

        • Hey!!! Your getting mighty close to infringing on my intellectual property!! Although in Basement Boy's case, I guess you could consider it Non-intellectual property.

  • MTV got their big moment that everyone will be talking about (Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift, Britney Spears' 2007 meltdown, Diana Ross boob slapping Lil' Kim, etc), but it has never seemed so desperate, contrived, and dirty. When Lady Gaga comes off as classy and subtle, you know this show has finally scraped the bottom of the barrel. At least until year.

  • OK, so I'm a conspiracy hobbyist. (I try not to get obsessed with conspiracy theories, or I'll wind up like my parents. It's like being a "social drinker" instead of an alcoholic.) I can tell you: in conspiracy theory circles, Disney is regarded as a mind-control center, and all the kids on the Disney Channel are passed around as sex toys for the executives.

This is why they always go nuts when they grow up (Britney Spears, etc.) - or they disappear from the limelight (Hillary Duff). I thought about this when I heard that Lee Thompson Young committed suicide last week. ...Or DID he?
