I'm wondering about climatic effects, what with blocking sunlight in the southern hemisphere and reflecting it in the northern. And the tidal effects...
The animation shows the rings as if they are illuminated, thats the only innacuracy I could pick out.
I wonder what it would look like to see from the dark side of the rings, would they would cast cool shadows? Would they illuminate at sunset and sunrise? Would rings prevent us from launching sattelites? Would we not have a moon if we had rings?
