Trump on the stump: Is The Donald a birther?

donald trump

Possible Presidential contender Donald Trump likes to buy things. Lots of things. But one thing he’s not buying is the story of Barack Obama’s birth in a manger in Honolulu.

“Let me tell you, I’m a really smart guy. I was a really good student at the best school in the country. The reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him.”

“If I got the nomination, if I decide to run, you may go back and interview people from my kindergarten. They’ll remember me. Nobody comes forward. Nobody knows who he is until later in his life. It’s very strange. The whole thing is very strange.”

Man’s obviously a racist.

  • When the biggest "Show Man" and huckster wont buy your story you are in big trouble. The money barry has spent to hide and seal all his records of birth would take care a several families for the decades.

Time to "fess up" and let us see the documents barry

    Dear Donald Trump:

Recently I heard on ABC news the following quote from you,

He grew up and nobody knew him. You know? When you interview people, if ever I got the nomination, if I ever decide to run, you may go back and interview people from my kindergarten.

I was very disappointed but not surprised that you would join the chorus of ignorance and bigotry of the ‘birther’ movement.

But just for the sake of argument, let’s suppose your claims are correct.

How then did a passport get issued to Mr. Obama when he was a child, or later as a young adult to go to Indonesia? If he were born there, he wouldn’t have needed one but it is public record that he had to have one issued. A United States passport for a child cannot be issued without a legitimate birth certificate and social security number validating citizenship.

Secondly, your assertion that nobody surfaces from Obama’s kindergarten days is ridiculous, irrelevant and obnoxious. You must not have been paying much attention. All throughout the campaign in 2008 many people, some from his family, some from his friendships, spoke of Mr. Obama’s integrity, preternatural maturity (especially as experienced by his sister he helped to raise,) and work ethic. Nobody cares about who he went to school with in kindergarten. “He always shared his cookies and milk,” is not an essential reference for president.

As a public figure, and someone who claims to be a smart guy, I’m disgusted by the degree to which you have stooped. It’s just stupid.

You have contributed to the climate of incivility and irrationality in our nation by lending credence to such conspiracy theories and lies. If you were really astute and intelligent, and actually concerned about things of importance such as the widening gap between rich and poor, climate change, and peace, you would spend your time learning how you could serve to make this a better world instead of saying things that just tear people apart.

    Sincerely,

    Amala Lane

    • You kool-aid drinkers keep missing the point. If his mother, and her man at the time, had taken him to Indonesia as a child, U.S. passport or not, he could not have attended school there without being a citizen of Indonesia.

Indonesia is not America, illegal immigrants are not allowed to attend public school, you have to be a citizen. What this means is he had to come back to America, with an Indonesian passport, then re-establish his American citizenship by giving up his Indonesian citizenship.

The Constitution of America, our country, specifically states that such a person CANNOT run for the Presidency. He can be elected to be mayor of your town, governor of your state, representative or senator, but he cannot legally be elected to be our President.

I'm asking the same question the old lady in the commercials for Burger King asked years ago. WHERE'S THE BEEF! Where is the proof the Obummer has never been a citizen of another country? Where are his college records? WHERE'S THE BEEF? You show it to me, I'll back off on the birther thing. If not, why not admit you are wrong and say the man has no right to sit in the Oval Office.

    • I feel bad for you...

First you got no friends to back you up. It must be lonely to be the only loon on a thread.

Second you took ALL of that time and effort to write this rant to Donald Trump that he WILL NEVER read.

which leads me to the third,You must be stupid. I am sorry but you have to be. To assume that D. Trump would read the letter here, to post the letter here instead of another place that makes sense, is a waste of time.

So... you invite ridicule, and hence I feel bad for you... that is not going to stop me from laughing at you though.

    • "You have contributed to the climate of incivility and irrationality in our nation by lending credence to such conspiracy theories and lies."

Since he won't release any information.....how on earth do you know they are lies? Are you the only person in the world who has seen a birth certificate, school records, or any of the other records he has spent over millions of dollars on to keep from being public? Even if he is a natural born citizen, all the trouble he's taken to seal his records can only be suspicious.

Lastly, he is a public servant...he works for me...I pay his salary (along with all the other people who pay taxes) and as his employer I think we have a right to see whatever he is trying so hard to hide.

    • If there is a widening gap; if the rich are getting richer (and it's not just another propaganda trick of playing with averages), then that's due to the fact that there are avenues to being billionaire that are now open that never were before. In the 1800s, if you wanted a fortune (which was just a measley million) you had to produce it through industry: factories, railroads, massive construction. Now you can become a billionaire by typing code into small electronic box, and you can do it before turning twenty. On behalf of the computer industry and the Internet, I profusely apologize to you. We didn't mean to hurt your feelings with that innovation.

What do you propose to do about it? How do you suggest we shut down that avenue to riches?

I don't know how many times it needs saying: Someone else becoming rich doesn't make you poor. Apparently, we could write that on a mallet and hit you in the face with it every damned day and you'd still never get it. People like you only like numbers and arithmetic when they're being manipulated to further socialism.

    • Now do you see what I meant about Kool-Aid drinkers RKae? Sheesh, you got so touchy back there when I was being sarcastic. What do you have to say about this Lane chick, she sounds dead serious?!? At least you gave her a thumbs down as well. BTW, I'm a birther as well. I just don't see CIA and FBI behind every tree and under every chair. I prefer them to commies any day!

      • Now, we've talked about this. I was touchy when you were sarcastic because your sarcasm was a miss.

Do I see the CIA (I never mentioned the FBI) behind every tree and under every chair? No. Do I see them making every attempt they can to seat a hand puppet in one of the most globally powerful offices there has ever been? Yes. When we have one guy controlling oil drilling, manipulating the auto industry, and... do I really need to itemize his absurd amount of power? ...everybody and his dog Spot is going to try and control that office. Why would you compare the control of such a concentration of power to "being behind every tree and chair"?

As for the tired old line about "widening gap between rich and poor." Good God. Must I? OK, I'll go put a comment up there.

    • He spent over 2 million dollars, and continues to spend more, to keep his records hidden. If he wanted to put the fire about this out, why would he not just show it? Really, why not? Like he says, whoever doesn't want to disclose the whole truth has something to hide.

    • I guess an 'esssential reference' (what?) for president is having the most liberal mindset of any acting senator, in spite of not having the nuts to vote yes-or-no on most opportunities voting 'present'. Being a community organizer. And the thing that bothers me most: the people he surrounds himself with like Bill Ayers and Rev Wright. Is that what is meant by reference? "Nobody cares who he went to school with..." Do they have milk and cookies in Kenya? I got off track...Preturnatural maturity is the thing that qualifies him to be president (forget the integrity thing)

    • Your concern about a widening gap between rich and poor = Class warfare, saying things that tear people apart. Don’t covet.

Climate change – A hoax to enable cap and trade and other taxes on energy that will ultimately cause higher energy costs in order to get away from fossil fuel. Obama pretty much said so, they just deny it’s a hoax.

Everyone wants peace, but someone has to control evil.

YOU have contributed to the climate of incivility and irrationality in our nation by lending credence to such conspiracy theories and lies.

      Wise Up!

    • Lane, Amala,
I don't think it was asserted that Obama went from the U.S. to Indonesia. That's what you believe, because that's what you've been told? Why would anyone need a U.S. Passport to go from Kenya to Indonesia? Right. They wouldn't. You used the word 'lies' in your letter. You don't know what the truth is, like most of us, but we're not calling you a liar. It would be nice to know. What is more important than knowing if the leader of the free world is a liar? Oh, yeah. Frickin' Climate change

  • What Obama said in the end made me laugh so hard.

Trump is right. IT IS WEIRD, that he seems to have been born out of that church with Wright and the bomber's living room. Very much else from before seems to be so shadowed in mystery. It is extremely weird.

  • One theory why his long birth certificate can't be found is because to have a better life at that time his mother put WHITE down as his race. Interesting theory.

    • Editor made this point a while back. I think its the best explaination of why we haven't seen his birth certificate -- the race of the baby is listed as white. We can't be having a white guy as the first black president, now can we?

      • If I remember my history right, and I do, Bill Clinton was lauded as the first "Black President" of our country because of his policies.

The conundrum we have now is, was Clinton the first "white" black president in our history? Does that mean Obama is the first "black" white president in our history? Or, does it mean the color of their skin makes no difference since both are political hacks without a shread of honesty?

    • That's interesting, in a State where Pacific Islanders constitute a Majority, 'white' was his ticket to a better life? And who is handing out this 'better life' to white people in Hawaii?

His mother names him Barack Hussein Obama, and goes on to write 'White' on the Birth Certificate?

      • I have a better theory. He simlpy dos'nt have a long form birth certificate, because he was'nt born in this country. Funny how people think someone is strange to believe this, but don't find it strange, that he has hidden so much info of his pre adult life. He won't even release his school records. What's the big secret?

  • He talks a good game, like any politician, but he's way south of the mark when it comes to essential Bill of Rights issues for me. He's squishy on the borders, language, culture. He's squishy on gun possession. He's squishy about trimming corporate welfare benefits. That's just what I can pull off the top of my head, sad isn't it, I must be getting old, forgetful, and grouchy!

His being a birther does add some street cred for him, but I don't think it's enough for a successrul bid for the WH.

    • a bit of a Rino, you're right, hisham...

and calling President Bush 'the worst President ever' ended any serious bid for the GOP ticket.

Hear that, Donny, you're done, Fired!

  • I'm a "birther" and I don't care what people think about it either. Nobody, I mean nobody, should be allowed to run for the highest office in our country unless their lives can be tracked back to day one, the day of their birth.

As far as I am concerned impeachment procedings should have started the day the Obummer was elected. He cannot provide a birth certificate. Even the brain dead drugged out old hippie, that Hawaii elected to be their governor, had to admit the state could not find any record of Obama being born there.

He went to school in Indonesia, which does not allow anyone the right to attend school unless they are a citizen. Even if Obama was born in Hawaii his elegibility to be President was nullified the day his father changed his citizenship to another country. Flip-flopping is not allowed under the Constitution. I was an American citizen before I was an Indonesian citizen, now I am an American citizen again does not cut it.

He will not allow anyone to release his college records. Why? If I had been priviledged enough to attend an Ivy League university I would be proud to be able to whip out that little sheepskin any time. Could it be that his records show he applied for student loans as a citizen from another country? Or, did he register as a student from a foreign country with someone else paying the bill for his education? It does not matter, it still means he is not legally allowed to run for the highest office in our country.

Richard Nixon was kicked out of office for getting caught at what most politicians do anyway. Lie, cheat and steal. But he was an American and had no problem with being proud of the fact. Now we have a president who cannot prove he is an American, who lies, cheats and steals us taxpayers blind, and I do not hear the same uproar or calls for investigations or impeachment.

  • wow RKae, I've never heard that Jim Jones and LH Oswald had multiples.
Far out, no doubt.Makes my recollection of events, the kool-aid solution and lone communist gunman, seem boring in comparison ;)

and I've always thought there was something in Obama's American accent that does not sound 'born American'. not quite as bad as Ariana Huffington or George Soros', but an accent nonetheless.

  • I say this every damned time, but the CIA has "created people" in the past. No matter what you think about the JFK assassination, we do know that there were several Lee Harvey Oswalds wandering about acting strange. There were a couple of Jim Joneses going around south of the border, and then one of them (with an inexplainable passport record) winds up running a mind-control cult with a CIA guy (Dwyer) hanging about during the mass suicide.

I wonder if Barry Soetoro and Barack Obama are even the same guy.

    • RKae, buddy, you've been drinking way too much Conspiracy Theory 20/20. I suggest you take something for that hangover. There's never been a provable conspiracy since the A. Lincoln assassination. I recommend you drop by your friendly Homeland Defense Office and get directions to the Director of Official Consiracy Theories office and ask them for 'The Treatment.' It's great government grade Kool-Aid, cherry flavor this week, I think...I was just there a week ago!

      • Funny how you mention Kool-Aid.

When everyone was drinking the poisoned Kool-Aid (actually most DIDN'T drink it and had to be injected or shot) why is Jim Jones heard on the audio tapes saying repeatedly to "Get Dwyer out of here"? If Dwyer (a CIA employee) was in the camp, wouldn't he be expected to drink the Kool-Aid like all the other believers?

No provable conspiracies since 1865? Wow. That's like saying there hasn't been a gunshot since 1865. Every time a little clump of people plot something, don't tell anyone else and then carry it out - THAT'S a conspiracy. The word "conspiracy" is in our lawbooks. Ever heard "conspiracy to commit [fill in the blank]"? Yeah. That's a crime. So it happens.

Some of the stuff the CIA has actually admitted doing is bad enough. LSD tests on unsuspecting people, etc.

        • I live in a place not so different from Jonestown, it is a liberal subtropical community. When I watch the Jonestown films, I relate to those people on a gut level. to me, those people were not FBI or CIA.

are you suggesting that all those dead jonestown people were not lost kooks from the streets of San Francisco? but in reality a communist infiltrators, brainwashed and re-educated cia and fbi operatives at a Death Camp? if so, sweet!

          • I should have ended that post with (sarcasm intended), some of you folks don't seem to have a sense of humor anymore...why is that?

          • I'm suggesting that the Jonestown folks were cooks who got suckered into a left-leaning church and got the mind-control whammy worked on them. Jim Jones was a CIA tool, who halfway knew what he was and halfway imagined himself something bigger. Dwyer was CIA.

    • Wow, Yeah. He's not as dark as the little Kenyan kid in the pictures. Maybe he should get out of the White House and play some more golf as the world goes to hell around him. You know, get some sun. Maybe take a trip to South America. Someone please change the locks while he's gone.

  • Look what's happened to us. Until recently it would have been unthinkable to elect a nonAmerican president. Of course, it's against the constitution. The law now is Obama law. Trump may not be your cup of tea, but I'll bet his cabinet wouldn't have any Mao-lovin commie green liberal dirtbags in it. I'll bet we'd be drilling for oil, too. While they can argue there is no proof Obama's not American, I mean not qualified to be the president, there is no proof he is.
    He's certainly un-American
