Rio residents will be sorely disappointed to learn that President Obama, the god who walks among men, has cancelled his sermon in the square.
AFP has the cancellation information:
The speech in the historic plaza known as Cinelandia, in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, “is cancelled,” an embassy spokeswoman told AFP.
Obama instead will deliver remarks at Rio’s Municipal Theatre, the official said, without specifying whether it would be open to the public or exclusively for invited guests.
The Brazilian masses will be crushed – absolutely crushed – because President Obama is universally adored in Brazil. Oh, wait, this just in:
On Thursday, members of an advance US security team were seen inspecting the surroundings of Cinelandia, where anti-US banners could be seen hanging from a road-side fence.
Some social and union groups have declared Obama a “persona non grata” and called for a protest, accusing him of a “bellicose policy of occupation” in foreign countries, and of attacking people “in the name of the war on terror.”
Apparently some of Brazil’s citizens don’t have access to the internet and have’t heard about the 2008 election. They still think George Bush is still President.
That’s the only possible answer, because, you know, all foreigners love President Obama.

Dropping the speech gives Obama more time for golf and sampling the nightlife in Rio. So, as he vacations from his job as President of the United States, Secretary of State Clinton runs the nation.
...and we have twenty two more months of this insanity to go.
I have had the good fortune to travel all over south america over a 10 year time frame. It is fair to say that most if not almost all of the local people that my wife & I met and spoke with, ( my wife speaks spanish,portuguesse) have the opinion that ALL americans are fat, lazy, stupid & immoral, sexually sick, and undeserving of our bounty. Yet in the same sentence or shortly after they each and every one of them had their own version to tell us of " if I make it to america here's what i would do story". It is pathetic. People are People the world over, I don't care where you live, the God you pray to, or theGovernment you love, if someone else has more than you than it's time to say....hey no fair, I want that. gimmie.
Only peolpe that are raised to beliveve in personal hygene, morals, values, and fair reward for work are the people that will survive the coming trials.

Liberals would like to think foreigners love Obama. Well, they have a dislike of American supremacy in common.
Obama is a man of the people, just not the American people.

On a side note : I wonder if Barry has given any thought about becoming the King of Libya or even to become the King of Egypt . He could be like some , that rewrote the Bible and inserted thier own names.

Come on now, we all know he's there for a big donors confab! He's already running for re-election and he's decided to get in a little well deserved vacation time with the wife, the mother-in-law, and the girls before he has to return to "The Peoples' grind" of picking winning basketball teams, playing golf, shooting hoops, talking shit, polishing his teleprompters, eating fattening foods, smoking, and goofing off!
In other words, he was just too damn busy having some quality time with family and friends (donors), to give a speech.
