Let’s forget 9/11

Let’s forget 9/11. So says Tom Engelhardt, a fellow at The Nation Institute and a professor at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of… wait for it… California, Berkeley. An apt memorial to those who agree with Tom might be a reflecting pond called “The Faces of Stupidity”.

  • So... let's not honor those that died at the altar of muslim hate because it reminds this guy of American what...? arrogance? So is it arrogance to remind ourselves that we should be 9/12 people and not 9/10 people? I am sick of people that have no idea what they are talking about and are just so stupid in their discourse, that they don't even realize how stupid they are.

    • I am convinced they learn all they will ever need to know in journalism school. When they finally do get to write an opinion piece, this is the crap that comes out. Its what they were taught about being a "good" journalist. No joke. My friend has spent the last 5 years going through journalism school, we used to be able to debate about our differences. Not anymore, there is no debating when superiority is assumed.

        • In fact I strolled over to this friend of mine's facebook page and what do you know, the first post I read was " Why cant we just forget 9/11? I am sick of it already"

          I was so angry I cant even begin to describe it here. I wrote out a long list of why this was a hurtful and heinous thing to say. That it destroys troop morale, telling them that they "invaded a country under a false pretense and to advance political policy". Saying "forget 9/11" is slapping every soldier in the face and that their sacrifices and that of their families was all for a "false Pretense".

          Seriously Kimmy, that was a quick sum up of what I wrote. Then a cohort chimed in telling me that "it was under false pretense we invaded Iraq and Bin laden is dead so it COULD be over"
          You would be proud to know I employed a stategic maneuver I learned from you in my response to that shallow individual. I responded commenting that I neither knew who they were, nor they me. I was addressing the author of the post, responding with my experience and opinion which is mine alone to say. And the conversation was over since neither of us would agree and we should just keep it civil.
          I was seeing red by the time it was over...I have yet to get a reply from my friend who wrote the post originally. I wouldnt be surprised if I am kicked from their friends's list for merely disagreeing. The worst part, I was completely civil and refrained from profanity, yet I feel it wont matter.

  • May as well forget about it. Not one mention in any of the memorials about who perpetrated this abomination upon our soil. Remember who they are, the religion of peace. The filthy muslim religion. I hate these people and all the liberals who tell me I need to accept them. Until they acknowledge the atrocity they perpetrated and atone for it as they seem to expect us to for every wrong we commit I will continue to pray for their early painful deaths.

    • OK, I know people get tagged as grammar Nazis when they correct stuff, but, honest to God, I stared at that for the longest time, wondering why you wanted me to forget about Hell.

      "Forget, Hell!" "Forget! Hell!" Or I like "'Forget'? Hell!"

      Interjection: usually set apart from a sentence by an exclamation point, or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong. (Now the song's stuck in yer noggin, ain't it?)

  • Forget 9/11? Hell, let's forget Pearl Harbor too. Surely it's a myth made up by the Tea Party, and is George Bush's fault right? Let's forget the Civil War too. It's blasphemy!

    You do realize, once we forget our history, we are doomed to repeat it. While it may be an oddball thing to think, consider this...we were ambushed at Pearl in 1941. We were ambushed in 2001. Too often, our guard is let down to "embrace" the liberal idea that we should welcome anyone and everyone into our midst, and love them without reserve. Too often, these people hate us, and everything we stand for.

    I think it's time to stop letting these people into our nation. I think it's time we stop running around blindfolded, and open our eyes to who the real enemies are. If we don't, we'll be hit again and again.

  • There has just got to be something in either the air or water with in the University of California at Berkley, way too many stupid ideas come out of the academia with in the university.

    Forget September 11th, no way no how. Ever American needs to sit and watch what pure evil can and has done.

    • Berkeley is a cesspool of human garbage from all over the country, it's the same as what happens when you flush you know what down the toilet. It ends up in Berkeley When the stinkiest rises to the top. If ever there was a liberal village in search of many idiots, this is it. Take a tour, you'll get hit up by about a 100 bums asking for money, People passing out fliers for every radical organization in the country, and its full of Obamaholics who can't get enough of the kool-aid. Ad in the real human waste in the alleys, the trash and a crime rate, (next door to Oakland) that makes it dangerous to live in. Basically its radical college students, their teachers, and a whole lot of people selling medical cannabis and collecting welfare. If, for say a nuclear accident were to occur, this would be the spot I would pick, I get the creeps driving thru it.
