Media ignores recent record low temperatures in the United States and Australia, snow in Saudi Arabia

The liberal media’s global warming gang is so busy announcing dire threats to mankind’s existence that they can’t find room to run articles like this:

“Record low temperatures in 28 states”

Record low temperatures in 28 states go unreported by the media. Several of the records were more than 100 years old.

“Coldest May morning on record in Australia”

Two far north Queensland towns experienced their coldest May morning in history on May 22, 2009.

Cooktown, an hour north of Cairns, dropped to 10 degrees Celsius (two degrees below its previous record low), while Coen on Cape York Peninsula recorded just 10.4 degrees Celsius.

“Snow in Saudi Arabia”

Saudis were surprised by snow in Al-Baha city south-west of Riyadh on May 19, 2009. Torrential rains accompanied by gusty winds left snow on the mountains, valley areas and forests near Al-Zaraeb and Khayrah.

  • God, I am so happy people chimed in after Scooter left his Aussie load of crap comment! I had to count to ten and walk away.

"I am too busy..." "I won't return to this website..." Blah, blah, blah...

Mr. Smartie Pants doesn't even know what Kool-Aid is. Gimme a break, Dr. Scott Bubbly (Global Warming Scientist)!

  • Cheryl Crow?

The Earth's materials have hardly been touched. The ocean is over fished, thats true, but there are more trees on the American continent than there were 200 years ago.

Have you flown over the country from coast to coast? Look down, see vast areas of asphalt and concrete? No, because the vast majority of land use is farmland and forest. Parking lots and asphalt comprise a very, very minor percentage of the overall area.

Roger, just because you live in a city, doesnt mean the entire face of the planet is city...get out into the country now and again. In fact take a trip to Alaska, buy yourself a bug net and some good boots and start walking...you will run out of will to explore before you run into the impact of man on the land.

Still, a respect for nature is a good thing and this country and most others have a strong respect for nature as they know damned good and well that disregard for nature just leads to our inability to subsist in nature.

I grew up in Alaska and have a very strong respect for nature, that does not mean that I believe in AGW. Sorry, but Im just not that dumb.

  • "Foolish is the person who thinks that there are no consequences from human activities, particularly the destruction of forests and plants, the construction of vast areas of asphalt and concrete, and the massive consumption of the earth's materials."

    P.S. Guess who said that.

  • "I think that unusual snows, rains, low or high temperatures do not disprove the prediction of global warming: in fact, they can be entirely consistent with it."

Yes, the new umbrella theory is called "climate change" and any weather pattern is consistient with it! Brilliant marketing [survival] plan.

How is it that if the Earth's atmosphere is warming (average temeratures all over the globe are rising) that we are still getting record low temperatures being recorded at very substantial rates?

Common sense tells us that if the average is going up, you should start to see less and less record lows and more and more record highs...please explain how this is somehow consistient with the theory of an atmosphere which is said to be warming globally.

Now, of course this IS completely in line with climate change, as it is true, climate does in fact change. Thats ALL CLIMATE DOES! So given how obvious this is, does it really need its own theory?

What is going to be funny to watch is how the alarmists try to wiggle their way into another profit making position when it is determined that we are on the cusp of a cooling period. Somehow I think they will be prepared to paint everything black, build giant magnifying lenses for the sun, but will still balk at the idea of letting people drive SUVs or let oil companies drill for oil.

  • This is so obvious. We really don't know anything. We are so arrogant, thinking that we know everything about the earth. We are willing to change our way of life, at a huge expense, and we are probably wrong. The hypocrite proponents of global warming are getting rich on this foolishness.

  • I think that unusual snows, rains, low or high temperatures do not disprove the prediction of global warming: in fact, they can be entirely consistent with it. For me the problem lies with politicians dictating what other people can/should do about it if it is for real.

From the headlines and comments that I have seen on this site, this entire site will surely become a headline for the new site "I Really, Really Hate the Media, But Can't Speak or Write About It, 'Cause Then I'd Be the Media".

    Cheers!

  • "I am simply too busy reading up on the evidence of human-induced global warming to engage in an argument in the ‘online comments’ section of some obscure website."

Apparently not busy enough. Dont you have some rooftops to paint white?

    • highways, dont forget painting highways white (could you imagine a sunny day? wrecks, EVERWHERE!)

whats with the CONSTANT flow of leftie trolls to this site?

  • but.....isn't really really cold weather due to global warming? That's what I heard! (and it was peer-reviewed!!)

  • I am from Australia, and as such I don't even know what kool-aid is! So, if you want to discuss the issue of global warming, please use evidence. It is unprofessional to use insults and hyberbole. :)

BTW: Lemmings don't jump off cliffs. It's well-known as a myth and a mere nano-second of online research reveals this. :) (refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemming)

I have a question for all you global warming deniers, (I don't call you people global warming 'skeptics', because that's an insult to the ancient Greek skeptics) where are the peer-reviewed scientific papers you get your information from? :)

I will not be revisiting this site. The only reason I even stumbled across this so-called article in the first place is because I was doing a review of the term 'climate change' from recent links on the Twitter website.

I am simply too busy reading up on the evidence of human-induced global warming to engage in an argument in the 'online comments' section of some obscure website.

    • A "bilby" is a long-nosed big-eared Australian rat. Maybe that's why he took such exception to the hideous fate of those poor deluded liberals, I mean lemmings?

  • You'll never change the Al Gore kool-aid drinkers minds, after all it's their delusional intransigence that helped transform them into kool-aid drinkers in the first place. Ask any lemming if what they're doing is harmful and the response you'll likely get before he/she falls over the cliff is how can so many of us be wrong? You're insane! (If lemmings could talk that is.)
