Michelle Obama leads children in pagan fertility ritual. Or something.

Those big city Chicago girls take to the farm like pigs to mud. So to speak.

First Chicago girl Hillary Clinton turned $1000 into $100,000 by trading hog bellies on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. And now Chicago girl Michelle Obama has become America’s leading agricultural expert.

The Christian Science Monitor reports from Michelle’s White House Garden:

“We harvested over 55 different kinds of healthy food — 55!” the first lady reported. “One thousand pounds of food! Can you imagine that?”

She told the students that no matter where people live or how old they may be, they can still garden, noting the fun of spending time outdoors and digging in the dirt.

To illustrate that point, the first lady knelt in the 1,500-square-foot garden and planted two rows of broccoli as well as some rhubarb.

After the rhubarb was in the ground Mrs. Obama and some of the children performed what she called a “growing dance” around the wooden planter. The group chanted “grow, rhubarb, grow” several times, then circled the planter and finished by throwing their hands in the air.

Immediately after completing the rhubarb dance, Mrs Obama led the children in the Rasmussen dance, in which the children chanted “Grow, approval numbers, grow.”
